It was worth the price
It is extremely easy to use. It takes a few minutes to heat up. But once heated. It stays at temp. It seems pretty high quality for the price I paid. It comes with alot of rods. Of different kinds. And it performs amazingly. My only issue is with the stand. It had a little metal stand. And it will get just as hot. As the device does. So set it on something that won't melt or burn

Serves the purpose
Bought this to repair a broken tab on the molding on SUV. It was my first time doing this type of repair and this set was cheap enough to give it a try. You-tube has videos on how to. Iron was hot enough to melt the plastic and the filler sticks worked well for additional material. Added some wire mesh which is in the kit to help support the repair.

Great value
Bought this item to repair a/c cover panel that was damaged in hail storm. It worked great. very light weight and simple to use.

Cool kit for miscellaneous plastic repair projects
This is very handy to fix issues with some plastic pieces that needed repair. It gets very hot and remains hot so be careful and use it in a ventilated space. I used a mask and a fan to move the volatiles away. Overall a good product and pretty easy to use after watching a few YT videos :)

Used it to repair a broken dash panel in an 2004 montecarlo
Does everything it says it will do, have repaired everything from a cracked plastic grass clipping chute on my cub cadet riding mower to a busted-up dash panel on an 2004 monte carlo, and a dozen other items, so far have saved about 1000.00 from purchases vs repairs. great tool would by it again, heats quickly. Only improvement would be that the flat blade does not heat quick enough and instead I use a solder iron style of flat blade sold separately plugs into 110v works better and after the wire is imbedded with the gun one can smooth out the plastic with a hot flat blade if needed. turns out super strong with wire imbedded, much better than just melting plastic together.

Melted on me
I think this might have been my fault. I leave it hanging in my office as the stand is not very good. My kid turned it on, after about 30 minutes the handle melted on me. It's pretty good but don't leave it on for extended periods of time and it should be alright.I gave it 3 stars for durability. I may order a different model with a more heat resistant handle.

Nowhere Near 100Watts
The first indicator that this was very likely NOT a 100 Watt iron was the size of the power cord - almost toy-like in it's thickness and length. I have several cheap, 20 watt soldering irons that have much heavier power cords and they also heat up in about a minute - easily hot enough to melt almost any plastic. Conversely, this welder didn't manage to hit it's "high" temperature even after 10 minutes of warm-up time (the indicator light remained red). Even after 10+ minutes of warm-up time, it couldn't melt the plastic (abs) I was trying to repair. Out of curiosity, I put a Kill-A-Watt meter on the welder and found that it's drawing 14 watts on "high" and 6 watts on "Low" which is pretty abysmal considering the manufacturer's rating. I would recommend steering clear of this one.

Works great
Works exactly as expected. I like embedding pieces of old twist ties into the plastic for extra strength of the weld

Works ok. I used steel wool as well.
Plastic welding is tedious and messy, but that's not the fault of this product. I fixed my blue box recycling bin that had a number of breaks close to one corner. I used steel wool instead of the mesh that came with the kit. The result was ugly but functional. Can't expect more. I had a plastic garbage can that I was also hoping to fix, but it was so broken and split in many places that I decided, even with this welder, it would be more tedious work than was worth it.

gets very hot!
i just needed to melt some plastic, but this is super good! it goes above and beyond! it gets hot enough to melt plastic. you need to be cautious with kids and cats around, as the stand isn't really solide, so it would be easy to yank it around and hurts someone. it heats up fast enough, but takes a while to cool down. the diversity of tip to use is great too! I'm happy to have it on hand, it's nice to have it for a bunch of small diy and house keep up.
