PRICEY BUT WORTH IT
BOUGHT THIS TO GO WITH MY NEW SHARP TV AND IT WORKS JUST FINE. JUST PLUG IT IN AND YOUR ALL SET. FIRST CALL WAS TO FRANCE, FAST AND CLEAR. EASILY SET TO WORK WITH SKYPE. JUST OPEN THE APP AND IT IMMEDIATELY FINDS THE HOOKED UP CAMERA. THERE IS NO ON/OFF BUTTON ON THE CAMERA ITSELF. IT HAS A LITTLE BLUE INDICATER LIGHT NEXT TO THE LENS WHICH IS ALWAYS ON. IT GOES ON AND OFF WITH THE TV. INSIDE THE SKYPE APP, THERE IS A BUTTON TO TURN THE CAMERA ON/OFF, BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT BEING ON/OFF WHEN NOT IN SKYPE. THAT'S JUST HOW IT WORKS. IF THE LIGHT BOTHERS YOU THAT MUCH, THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO UNLUG IT FROM THE TV WHEN NOT IN USE. THE SHARP TV HAS 2 USB PORTS, ONE OF WHICH I ALREADY USED FOR THIS CAMERA. CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT IT EXCEPT THE PRICE. HAS A NICE WIDESCREEN PICTURE, CAN SEE MY WHOLE 8 FOOT COUCH, AND THE SOUND IS FINE. WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED.

Have had lots of problems
Not sure if it's the camera or my Sharp smart TV. I was able to do a video chat with Skype one time and ever since then have not been able to get this working with my TV. Not sure if its the TV's software or something about the camera. The video chat I was able to do was very nice and seemed to work very well.

Works like a charm...
I just hooked up my FreeTalk webcam to my Toshiba 47TL515U and it works perfectly. I had tried several other non-HD webcams for laptops to no avail. Once I plugged in the FreeTalk and opened the Skype application on the firmware updated HDTV, it recognized it and asked me to login to my Skype account. I had to upgrade the Skype on the remote laptop to see the video, but once I did that, this thing was sending high quality video and audio out to the other end. I made a call from Colorado to British Columbia using the webcam and got rave reviews on the wide-angle view of myself and the kids, as well as the video and audio quality. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Definitely not had but it works well with our sharp 70". It's always activated when the tv is on so we unplug it when it's not in use.
