Title: Happily Ever AfterSeries: Rook and Ronin (#3.5)Author: JA HussFrom: AmazonGenre: RomanceRelease Date: 16th December 2015Challenges: 2016 Read the Books You Buy, 2016 Prequel & Sequel Challenge (11 points)Links: Goodreads - Amazon*May contain spoilers for other books in the Rook and Ronin series, including the Ford and Spencer spinoffs*In the years since their lucky escape, Ford & Ashleigh, Rook & Ronin and Spencer & Veronica have built family lives. Princess Rory Shrike and Five Aston have always thought they were meant to be together, but with Five going away to Oxford, Rory no longer thinks he'll always remember her...I've been excited to read this since it came out (and before I'd read most of the books in the Rook and Ronin series, so finishing Guns last night gave me the go ahead to read this and I got excited. And it was well worth it! There was more of a focus on family than in other books and it was definitely sweeter (particularly with Five having a POV) and I liked that, it helped end the series on a really high note. You shouldn't read Happily Ever After until you have read all the Rook and Ronin books, plus the Ford and Spencer spin offs. It acts almost like an extended epilogue (or in Five & Rory's case a prequel of sorts!) and just wouldn't make sense without all the various characters' back stories (especially as there is quite a large cast for the length of book...just keeping up with all Spencer's kids was tricky!)There were a lot of POVs for a short book (again this is why it helps to have read the previous books as the only new one was Ford's son, Five) but it worked well, giving the reader views into the three main relationships from the past books as well as that of the eldest (non-related!) son and daughter of the trio (Five, and Spencer's oldest daughter Rory, otherwise known as Princess Shrike).I loved Five and Rory. With the amount of kids that the lot of them had it was bound to happen where two of them liked each other, and if I kept track correctly then the only other pairing close in age were Oscar and Starling who were only 5 and 6 respectively. Their day was sweet and innocent, though clearly has the potential for more.Seeing the kids was great too. I felt the most time went to Ford's chidren, but that worked for me espcially as Kate had been a big part of his and Ashleigh's story. That one also hit quite close to home in other ways for me too. Because Kate being so like Ford despite everything made me think of my own situation with my own Dad (in a very happy way!)Basically this was perfect. I couldn't think of a better ending for a group of characters that I've grown addicted to! And I love how other stories are interconnected too.

A lovely little........
Insight into what happened with the whole gang 15 years on, and the kids all growing so fast, it's weird because my only child has just turned 12 and started high school a few months back and I was only saying a few days ago where the hell has all the time gone, if the next 12 years go by as fast he'll be out in the big bad world on his own 2 feet the next time I think to think about it all, Jesus Christ, it's really true that time passes by all too fast, so I totally get why the guys in this book are thinking and feeling the same way, but anyways a great Xmas treat and definitely can't wait to see what goes down with Five and Princess Rory and I'm glad were getting a bit more from this series as I never wanted any of them to end, so a massive thanks Julie, you rock!!!!! Perfect
Oh my gosh. This was the perfect read for Christmas. I had tears in my eyes numerous times. Happy tears!I have loved every single book starting with Tragic and have felt like I lived the stories along with them all. This Happy ending..( and beginning!) warmed my heart. It felt like my family have grown up and I felt the pride welling up inside because they all did good! I am so happy they are happy. I always slightly favoured Ford, but this story bought a new found love for Spencer. I can't wait to find out what the future holds but I am happy to have this visit with The Team just to feel their love and happiness. Thank you Julie for sharing them with us again.Merry Christmas 😄

OMG....perfection yet again!!
This is the perfect ending to the series (well almost ending - roll on spring 2016!!)I'm not gonna go through each character because I don't want to spoil it but what I will say, is that it's so nice to read just a nice story, just a simple HEA, obviously you still have a few dramas but all in all it's just a perfect story...hats of to ya J xxPs...dont mistake this for a fairy lovey dovey sprinkles and smiles boring book - there's still the Huss factor to it ;)

Perfect Christmas read!
I picked this up to read earlier in the year, then realised it was a Christmas story - so I saved it up. And it's perfect - a short novella revisiting the team one Christmas eve. An epilogue. There's no big drama, or suspense, just a beautiful story, of family life, of the normal things (well normal for the team), a light Christmas read, a feel good story. Exactly what I was in the mood for.

Fantastic
A MUST for anyone who has read the Rook & Ronin, Ford & Spencer books. Absolutely loved this. Loved reading about the guys with their families and seeing where they are all at 15 years later. Five & Rory are just adorable. Poor Spencer he's got his work cut out with his little princesses, they probably will be the death of him!
