The product idea is excellent and this is one of the only cases I have seen, that help me raise the height of my phone display (I prefer that when using navigation).However, the dock seems to wobble even when tightly affixed and the magnet doesn't seem strong enough to hold slightly heavier phones. Further, if the metal plate kept even behind regular thickness cases, then the hold reduces quite a bit. Combined together, I faced multiple instances of the phone sliding down after some distance driving.I suspect I may have gotten a defective piece since I see a but of a dent in a corner. So, I tried to request for a replacement since I do like the product quite a bit. However, Amazon only allows for a refund and my only option is to buy the item again. Wish they had more flexibility.

I have tried many cell phone mounts and this is my favorite. The best feature is the off-set from the vent. It takes the phone away from the airflow from the vent and during the winter, this is critically important because it may heat up the back of the phone. The thumb spring loaded vent clamp makes for secure and quick mount and release. Mount is very versatile and adjustable for both vertical and horizontal vent fins. The quality of the device is also impressive. Overall, a little more expensive than most but worth the extra bucks.

The magnet is nice and strong, but the ball joint clamp can't seem to hold the weight of my iPhone 6 Plus without drooping. This is even after tightening it as hard as I possibly could without using pliers. Also, the pincher-clamp that attaches to the vanes of the vent would fit in the vent of my Toyota truck. Ite was simply too thick. In my other vehicle, it would fi but was so sloppy that it kept falling out.I have on of the mounts linked below already in my other vehicle and it works fine. I tried a vent/cradle then a CD/magnetic then this item, as the first 2 were dissapointing. This one actually stays in the vent and holds my phone, with magnetic piece stuck to the inside of the case. The arm is not that long so you will still block the vent but not as bad (maybe if you put your phone horizontal, I've only used vertical).Quality seems very good.

Strong clip, holds well on vents. Arm is adjustable and locks tight into desired spot. Magnets are thin and very strong. It holds my iphone 6 without a problem (with magnet placed inside phone case). Second magnet I have on an ewriter and had to use adhesive backing that comes on the magnet, which is worthless. No big deal, small piece of 3m double sided tape took care of it.

Works as advertised and keeps the phone mostly out of the vent. Unlike other reviewers, I did not have issues with the magnets or the mount coming loose while driving. Tested with both a 5.2" Moto G and plus sized iPhone with folio case. The issues that other users had may be due to the design of the air vents. I tested this on a Prius V, Honda Odyssey and Audi A6. Could not give 5 stars however as I am not sure of the durability of the item.

Have had it for several weeks and so far it's working great. Doesn't block vent and you can move the arm to various angles. I was a bit concerned at first that the arm might move around and not hold its position since it can still move around a bit even when you tighten the screw all the way, but so far it's not a problem at all. Also doesn't fall off the vent. I like that it can easily work at any angle. I tried another similar model but it didn't have quite as long an arm and also had sort of fixed angles at which you could have the arm. This is much better.

This has to be the best car phone holder on the market. I’ve tried a lot and this thing is hands down the best. Rock solid mount and still have use of the vent. No more suction cups coming loose with summer heat and winter cold! Customer service was very responsive and helpful. Buy you won’t regret it!
