This dehumidifier delivers impressive performance, effectively controlling humidity throughout my 800 sq ft basement with minimal noise. The digital display and simple controls make operation easy, while the reliable auto-shutoff feature works flawlessly when the tank fills, preventing any overflow concerns. The unit construction quality is standard for the price range, with an easy-to-clean filter for maintenance. Though primarily plastic, the design is functional with a removable water tank that's simple to empty. Overall, this dehumidifier provides dependable moisture control and straightforward operation at a fair value compared to similar models on the market. We have had this unit for several months, and it holds up. We have very humid summers, and this does its fair share of work with ease.

This Waykar Dehumidifier is a beast at removing humidity from the air. One of the reasons I chose this model is because it can take the humidity level down to 30% and it has a large tank for holding the accumulation of water. I also really like that the humidity percent is in large digits on the front. I emptied the unit at least once a day from our finished basement. It is definitely apparent when it is running vs. when it’s not. Unfortunately, the unit is currently not working correctly. It was just a little over a year since I purchased it, so it was just out of the warranty time frame of a year. It sounded like it was freezing up on the inside. I cleaned the filter screen, but that did not fix the issue. The fan runs and runs, but the humidity level does not decrease and no water is collecting. The great news is that Waykar is replacing the unit for free! It is nice to see a company that stands behind their product and does the right thing even if the unit is outside of the one year warranty. I have yet to receive the new unit, but I will update this review if there are any issues.

My first review (below) describes my initial experience with Waykar's customer service. I later discovered that the representative had a medical issue and had to urgently leave the office while assisting me. Several days later a new representative Max took over the case and couldn't have been more helpful. Based on other Amazon reviews and my experience with Max, I believe the problem that I described in my first review was an isolated instance and that Waykar does indeed take customer service very seriously. My problem has now been resolved and I want to sincerely thank Max for restoring my faith in Waykar! "My Waykar dehumidifier was delivered last week and I was excited to install it in my basement. I was initially impressed, the shipping carton, Styrofoam, and corner braces were very well designed/packaged and clearly protected the unit from shipping damage. However, after carefully uncrating the unit and reviewing the instructions I quickly discovered that the hose connector was missing. The connector seals the hose to the back of the unit and allows continuous drainage operation vs frequently emptying the collection tank. I immediately attempted to contact Waykar's customer service department. Firstly, no one will answer the live customer service phone line which they provide along with their hours of operation. I tried for 3 days without any luck. Secondly, their chat bot and chat service is a joke. They say they will be there momentarily... and then keep you waiting for an indefinite period... hours. They don't even give you an option to call back or even to arrange a chat online at a designated time. I gave up waiting several times until I finally connected with chat representative. After spending 30 minutes describing the problem and answering numerous questions they agreed the part was not shipped with the unit and needed to be repolaced. I then requested they overnight ship the part considering that I had spent 3 days attempting to resolve the matter with them and that the part could be easily placed in a small envelope. I was told they don't normally do that but they would speak with management and get back to me. Do you think they got back to me? I tried to reach customer service on the chatline... and again no one answered. I got an email about 2 hours later saying they were ready... but there was no way I could easily connect with them. I got so frustrated that I went down to my local hardware store and purchased a hose connector and plastic hose. I installed it and started the unit without a hitch. The unit was reasonably quiet and the humidity was starting to drop in the space. The next day I went to inspect the unit and it was off. It turns out that even though the unit was draining continuously through the hose, some of the condensate was simultaneously spilling into the collection tank until it filled and automatically shut the unit off. This of course is not how the continuous drain feature is supposed to work. I was certainly not going to attempt to reach customer service again, so today I started the return process.... and purchased a different dehumidifier. When the new unit comes next week I will pack up the Waykar unit and send it off to post office. I completely understand that problems do occur from time to time, however, what I cannot understand is when a company does not take its customer service function seriously enough to adequately staff it and provide proper training. This is clearly the case at Waykar. They may make a good unit... lots do. I will never know and really don't care."

I was able to replace 2 similar units in size with just this one unit. It quickly took the humidity out of my basement which was a big concern since we live in the mountains and had previously had to deal with a mildew issue. I found the unit to be extremely effective, more so than other units I have owned. Very simple to operate, no emptying required and noise level is minimum.
