A review from a Hitman fan
To cut a long story short, I've given this movie 3 stars because if it was being rated just for being an action movie, it was pretty good. However, this movie happened to be based on one of my all time favourite video games, I used to play them as a kid on the PC and have in recent years played them on xbox etc so I had high expectations for this movie. Within the fist 2 or 3 minutes I already had an inkling I would be disappointed, the actor playing as agent 47 just didn't cut it for me, straight away I noticed he wasn't no where near dark and gritty enough, infact he seemed way too fresh faced, his voice wasn't very deep and even his walk just didn't seem broad enough. It may not seem like a big deal but as a Hitman fan I feel they could of found a much better suited actor. The second thing that really bugged me was how agent 47 seemed to just mow down everyone in his path, now correct me if I'm wrong but in all Hitman games Is it not one of the main aims to kill as less people as possible and use stealth to avoid detection, cause distractions etc... I even found myself shouting at the tv on one occasion, where he was ontop of a lift, he opened the door on top and went out of his way to slaughter a group of officers travelling in the lift, he then jumped down and didn't even steal one of the disguises?! This may all seem picky and stupid but I really don't feel the movie reflected the game whatsoever, but as far as generic, unmemorable action movies go it wasn't terrible to watch, but it's definitely one of them films you'll watch, put aside, then never watch again.

Hitman - Extreme Edition Review
I enjoyed the strange interplay between the two main characters and how they influenced each other. I would only recommend this to people who enjoy this sort of film, and I did not enjoy it for the violence, which at times I found extreme. However I am always disappointed that the reality is left out, how did they manage to travel cross so many different countries without being spotted or traced. I found other characters well set up but was disappointed with the usual standard of Russian characters, though the Senior Investigator was well played despite the limitations. The delivery of the item, with others was very good, it arrived before the due date, but as I had experience that previously that such items do a rive early I had been able to plan for this.

LOVED IT!
I can't believe all the bad reviews Hitman is getting becasue I thought it was great! One review said Timothy Olyphant performance was so rigid like cardboard. He is playing a 'gun for hire' assassin so of course he's not going to be cracking jokes. The film is about Agent 47 played by Olyphant who is is hired by a group, 'The Organization' and becomes ensnared in a political conspiracy. He finds himself pursued by both Interpol and the Russian military.I think it has a little bit of everything for everyone; action, romance and a bit of comedy (depends on if you have a sense of humour). Before believing the negative reviews try and watch it yourself and then see what type of review you want to write about it.

Complete and utter fail.
I feel insulted by this DVD. Rarely do I find a release that I get a bad vibe just from looking at the case, but when I popped this one in the player I just couldn't believe how much of a rush job this was. Not only are there no special features to speak of whatsoever, coming only with the most basic of menus, but the DTS soundtrack that the film was mixed in is missing as well - even more insulting since almost all 20th Century Fox releases have a DTS audio track, including the Blu Ray version of Hitman, so why not the DVD? Maybe Amazon sent me the wrong DVD, but I don't think so. The fact that it's an Extreme Edition just makes me laugh. Have a look at the Extreme Edition of the Alien vs Predator movie. Granted the film wasn't incredible, but it had a great DVD release and was under the same banner as this, made by Fox. The Extreme Edition title is even more ridiculous since it's the only damn version of the film that's available...Anyway, if you're reading this then you've probably seen the film already so I'll try not to go into detail about the movie itself. For those of ya who haven't, Hitman isn't all that much better than most other videogame adaptations, largely due to the fact that so much was cut out of it. You can tell at multiple points in the film that various sequences have been cut down for whatever reason.Get a copy of Skip Wood's excellent original script for Hitman and you'll see that almost sixty pages worth was excised from the final film, a further fifteen being completely reordered and hocked up with mindless action. Interestingly enough though, several short pieces were reintroduced for the DVD. I guess for it to qualify for that increasingly redundant "extreme edition" tag. All two minutes worth is barely noticeable if you haven't seen the film before, most of the additional material being splitsecond shots of gore or some minute character trait expansion. While these do improve the film, they only serve to give a glimpse of the vast amount of footage that was removed and really make me feel sorry for the director who basically had his movie gutted by 20th Century Fox, just because it tried to stand out from the crowd. In short, an alright movie with castrated potential gets a terminally cheap DVD release that makes me regret buying it.

Powerful and griping
Hi, well what to say, the acting is great, the plot is thrilling and the movie never stops, the action is intense and always is of a good standing, there is very little in the way of distractions or silly scenes, just the the action with a great plot. There are subtule sub plots and the actors are all great. This film is a like a real James Bond meets Mission Impossible 1. A film that will definitly allow you to escape for several hours. Highly recomended.
