City Center Set is awesome
My 6 year old grandson loved building it - took him a few days to finish but he did it all on his own!

Awesome Lego city for hours of play
This is perhaps the largest Lego set we have had to date and it sure is awesome! Obviously, we all know Lego is expensive and this set is no exception. My youngest son was absolutely over the moon to get this but he is far too young to build it so my 15yr old was more than pleased to do it for him. The problem is, it took him on average about 4-5 hours (in intervals) to build the entire thing and by the time he'd finished, he was so proud and defensive about anyone breaking it he practically guarded it! lol The younger kids loved it and I have to admit the attention to detail is fantastic. I was looking at it for ages and noticing new things all the time. There's so much going on it's insane and I could see why the kids were mesmerised by it and could play with it for hours. Now, there's just one major thing wrong with Lego, and that is it is easily breakable. Okay, I know it's supposed to be but when your 15yr old has built his masterpiece, you kind of wish it wasn't. So after two successful days of harmonious play, one of my young twins decided to push the entire piece off the table which saw it break into four bits. My son and husband thought all was not lost so tried picking up the pieces to move to safety but alas, it crumbled from their hands sending pieces of Lego everywhere! Now, my son doesn't very often get upset about anything but this had him close to tears. He was gutted and needless to say, the whole thing has now been amalgamated into the kids huge Lego box so will likely never be built into the original city again :( I did try to explain to my son that leaving something so delicate with his little brothers was maybe a bad idea, but hey, that's Lego! Overview: A fantastic set that will be a coo for any Lego fan. Just remember that if you want to keep it intact, build it somewhere safe. 5/5

Expensive for a Lego city set, but wonderful build and great play value.
This summer’s flagship Lego City set is huge and must be among the biggest (if not the biggest) sets Lego have ever made in the City range. It depicts a large business and leisure type district with many interesting locations for the large cast of mini figure inhabitants to inhabit and explore. As is now becoming common for these large Lego sets, the build is split up into a number of modular sections. This makes the set an ideal family building experience where you all work on different parts. It also allows for reconfiguring of the final layout to your liking. This helps ensure longevity of the set as once you are fed up with the original layout, you could change the rooms / floors around or even use bits of it with other Lego sets. Road plates run though the centre of the set and provide a good base setting for the high rise buildings above. Still on ground level are some food vendors, a small pizza shop, a noodle stand and a little juice truck (the only vehicle, with this set focused on the buildings). There is a small park area with some railings where water might be (you could realise this a bit better yourself with a few additional blue bricks if you wanted). The multi floor structure is where the set really shines though. You have high rise structures on both sides of the road that are connected via an attractive glass skywalk above. The glass bridge swings open at the top to allow for mini figure placement within. On one side of the road you have a comic book store, janitors closet, phone repair shop and hotel with both reception and suite above. The other side of the road has a barbers shop, a veterinarian, a property owned by some sort of YouTuber / live streamer and a rooftop disco. All of these settings are open at the back and accessible for play, however some of the interiors are a bit on the small side. A large cast of mini figures is included to tell whatever stores you can think of for this setting, probably the largest number of figures I have seen in a Lego set to be honest. There is a good variety of characters, with a few stereotypes and others that are more ambiguous as to their backstory. Overall, this is a very large and impressive set with a lot going on in terms of play value and display options. I particularly like some of the design aesthetics in the build, such as the multi coloured road crossing, the giant blue Lego brick tribute and the brick built pizza shop sign. I do feel that the recommended retail price is a bit excessive (probably beyond what I would normally pay for a set in the Lego City range), but I acknowledge that the set is very large both in terms of piece count and size.

Good value for money since the one on the Lego website was much more expensive

Fantastic, big city set
This is one of the largest sets in the Lego City range and you really get a lot packed into it. With 2010 pieces this involved hours of enjoyable construction which we spread over a couple of days. It is straightforward to build but you need to make sure that you have enough space for it and maybe to move around it - You need to be able to get to it from all sides so need the access or to rotate it. With 4 storeys to build it takes a bit more dexterity than some of the smaller Lego City sets. We have other Lego city sets, but with such clever inclusions this has to be a favourite. My children love comic shops, noodle bars, palm trees and pizza, so thought that this set represented the sort of place that they would love to visit! And with some veterinary interests the inclusion of the veterinary practice is an added bonus. With solar panels and wind turbines etc this is a very contemporary design and provides an interesting snapshot for the future. The set includes 14 mini-figures (and a dog) which can be positioned in all sorts of places. As with other sets in the range some of the detail is fantastic. I like the bird in the tree, the roof terrace with speakers and lights, and the old-fashioned barber’s pole. This set can be expanded using a separately purchased Lego Road kit if you really need it to be bigger! The set is on the more expensive side but should provide hours of children’s entertainment. You do need to have a plan for what to do with it when complete regarding displaying or storing it.

Epic Lego set – biggest city ever?
This is not cheap, but it’s awesome. When given as a present, even the experience of unboxing would be a thrill. There are several Youtube clips showing this in detail, and I can believe the claim made in one of them that this is Lego’s biggest city set ever. As soon as you open the box, you make an unexpected pleasant discovery. Typically, Lego pieces are bagged by type/size/colour. This one is bagged by area. This means that, for example, you can start off by building the hotel without opening all the bags and risking losing the pieces you don’t need yet. The detail and build quality are everything you would wish. The set gives you the potential for several permutations of adventures, e.g you can grab some lunch, eat some food and go to the hotel with your dog. The mini figs are new ones which all add to the fun. There is even more scope if you use any other figures and items you already have. It’s a challenging build, but also a fun one, as contrasted with something like Millennium Falcon, which gave me a headache. So far I’m only a quarter of the way there, so I can only guess that the complete build will take five to ten hours. The instruction manual is easy to follow, as usual, or you can use the online build tool instead. Once made it’s taller than wider, so the footprint isn’t as big as you might expect. Time to get building!
