This is a super sturdy chain and lock ring. Unfortunately after a couple of nights rain it was impossible to open the lock. Much oil and WD40 later the mechanism started working again: now zi keep it liberally lubricated and not had any further issues by the key does still occasionally feel like it’s not going to work, though normally does:It’s a great deterrent and apart from the locking issues is great

a lock getting stuck not able to unlock easily with its own keys., needs few attempts to unlock by force which is sometimes hectic

The chain and lock are both very strong. Got a bit of weight to them which we like but not too much.The lock itself can be used without the chain as a disc lock. However, I use mine with the chain as I have a separate disc lock.Test of strength (for lock) the other day I couldn't get the lock open and was getting very frustrated. So I resorted to trying to beat the living hell out of it with a hammer and tried to cut it.Other than a few scratches it was fine. And then I realised I was using the wrong keyBut it is strong and i'd definitely buy it again

Have used this lock for locking my bike up at work, is a good strong lock,only downside worth mentioning is the actual lock itself,below it just hangs there if it rains you will get water storing in the lock itself so make sure it doesn't stand and rust the internals of the lock,personally I like to add some grease inside just to keep the mechanism working smooth

It's a long and sturdy chain.It is of a size that means it could be defeated by some meaty bolt cutters but then the thieves tool of choice these days seems to be an angle grinder which would even get bigger chains.I feel comfortable using it to secure my bike when I'm popping into a shop for 2 mins alongside another type of lock.

Heavy! I'm a woman and thought "Jesus. This is heavier than the bike".Ha. Determined not to be a 'wimp' I wrapped it round the centre of the handle bars to test its usefulness locally and a few miles away. Well you'd have to be one determined nut-job to want to remove this fat mama. Chunky, just a bit fiddly at first until you get used to the locking mechanisms and certainly does the job. I'm happy with. Certainly muscle toning and weight adding to any bike and the right length. I'm glad I did not get above this length. Very good chain covering. Not a case of quick release and go with this chain and lock. Factor in just a bit more time for this when parking your bike temporarily. Worth it.I've desisted from giving a five only because I want to see how long this lasts without someone trying to take this bike (having just replaced yet another stolen one. Grrr). The Gold Secure label is clearly on the lock and packaging.
