I received one of these food covers as a gift -- kitchen gadgets are a common gift in our family -- and while at first I was confused by it, it's proven surprisingly versatile. We've all had that frustration of having a container of food to store but no lid for it, or a cut fruit or veggie that we need to preserve... and the food cover provides a solution without having to resort to plastic cling wrap. Just stretch it over your container and you're good to go.Word of warning -- DON'T let whatever you're trying to store get moldy! I made that mistake and it's discolored the food cover permanently (we bleached it just to be sure the mold was gone). Also, be sure you get the appropriate size, as it can and will tear if you try to cover something too big. Otherwise, it's a handy tool in the kitchen.
