These earmuffs are great. I have now worn these earmuff for two transcontinental flights, one 6 hours long, the other 5 hours long. I wore these continuously except when going to the restroom or when talking to a flight attendant. I wear a size 7 3/4 hat. These earmuffs were very comfortable and did not feel too tight nor created any soreness. I needed to adjust the earmuffs against my head to make a seal...I could tell when the seal was good when I pressed the earmuffs and could feel the pressure differential in my eardrums. This is my setup and what I found out...1. My setup was first to use Audio Technica ATH ANC3 noise cancelling earbuds. I then put these HL earmuffs over the earbuds.2. This was very very quiet. During the flight, the noise level was equivalent of being in a hotel room with the central air conditioning fan set to medium speed. A room with a window air conditioner would be noticeably louder than what I was hearing with this setup.3. I was able to listen to classical music. at low levels. I could barely hear any flight attendant announcement. The Audio Technica are pretty good. Putting on these earmuffs cuts the noise level by more than half again. I could barely hear conversations next to me, but could not make out what was said. I had no screaming baby next to me, but I believe this would filter out all the high frequency shrieking (which is what is irritating to me) and only let some of the low frequencies to pass. However after having my own kids, I learned how to only listen for my kids screaming and filter out other kids screaming....sounds weird but I found other parents that can do the same thing...Overall, for me, these are comfortable over long periods of time. There is pressure against my head that keep the earmuffs sealed. It doesn't bother me but some people may find that pressure annoying or painful if you do not like any pressure on the side of your head. So be aware of this potential downside. But if you can tolerate this pressure, the combination of noise cancelling earbuds and this earmuff is phenomenal and makes for a very quiet airplane ride

I am loving these earmuffs! They are light weight and very comfortable. Wore them for 6 hours the first day and 10 hours the next while building a fence. I like wearing floppy hats with a full brim to keep the sun out of my face. This is my only behind-the-neck style of hearing protection and it works great with hats. I also like that they don't squeeze my head as tight as my 3M X2A's or my Walkers (I'm not at all a fan of the Walkers, too tight and the pads are uncomfortable). These LN1's are almost as comfortable as my old Howard Leight Leightning L3s with the headband. If you want excellent comfort and good hearing protection, I would pick Howard Leight hearing protection over any others. For me, they do a fine job of muffling sounds from power tools and they are my go-to choice for working around the house. For maximum hearing protection, I prefer the 3M Peltor series. My 3M X2As are not rated as high as these L1n's, but they seal around my ears better and create a noticeably quieter environment. The 3M's are nice, but they will not be used as often because they are only comfortable for the first 1-2 hours of wear.

Great price for the quality. Other reviewers are correct in that these are not super comfortable, because they are very tight and the foam is fairly stiff. So after an hour or two they they want to start giving you a headache. The thin Peltor 21dB ones in contrast are quite soft and comfy. But these do work well. I didn't need this style, but tried them since they are cheap and I'm somewhat absent minded and tend to misplace tools, so having multiples helps.

This is very good ears protection against all sounds. The sound protection is very good. These earmuffs are so good and confortable that I put them on my ears and I fell asleep 2 minutes after that. You can sleep with them, they are very comfortable. They put no pressure against the ears, and they are thin and elegant.A comment from me: when they arrived and I put them I said that they are too small, but immediately after I found that they are adjustable. After adjusting them, I found that they are not too small for my big head. Thus I am saying thank you. They arrived here in Eastern Europe 6 days after they were shipped. Fast and convenient!

Lightweight, and folds up small for storage. I bought this for international pistol shooting competitions where I need to block out noise and protect my ears but still be able to hear people speak (electronic earmuffs not allowed). Does a great job and is very comfortable for extended wear after the addition of gel earcups.

Nicely fit around the ears, i used daily for around 4 5 hours not even a single time i feel it heavy or hard on my head. Noice reduction is very good though, i am using it at airport around aircraft with loud noice of jet engine running but it effectively good in noice reduction. Lastly value for money.

Top notch ear defenders. I am a marine engineer and noise levels in my work place are up to 120 Decibels. With this ear defenders the noise levels are greatly reduced to comfortable levels. The fit is perfect and comfortable inspite of my large head size and spectacles which i wear continuously. The material and build quality is fantastic. It's sturdy. Note this is a ear defender which means it reduces the surrounding noise levels to acceptable limits. They are not noise cancelling/blocking ear phones. Basically ear defenders are used for reducing the surrounding noise levels to acceptable limits not to cut it out completely. I my marine field i have to be able to hear the machinery sounds so as to note/find any abnormality. Since machinery sounds are very high the ear defenders reduce it to normal levels so that working in such noisy environment will not harm your hearing in long term exposure.
