This just works. We had 50-100 ants all over our feeder at any one time, and they are totally gone. The 'stuff' goes on the underside of the BugSnub and the ants won't even try to cross it. It works like a repellant versus an insecticide or something sticky to trap them. The ants checked it out at first, but have stopped even trying. The bungie cord was too long for the way our feeder hangs, so we tied a knot in it to shorten it.

The simplest review is the best: it works. There are few things more disgusting than opening up your hummingbird feeder and finding it full of ants. Yuk. I tried other unsuccessful solutions and then put this on my feeder. No ants--but they decided to go to a second feeder (clever buggers). So I ordered a second BugSnub for that one. It has been several months and I have not seen one ant, dead or alive, nor have I needed to refresh the gel. Yes, your feeder will hang about 6" lower, but the cord is not unattractive, and I see no reason why it could not be cut and knotted shorter if absolutely necessary.

A nice improvement over even the largest "water cup" moats. 1- Last much longer, than 'water cup moats', at least in warm dry climates. Otherwise I'm refilling moats well before the nectar need changing. (Not to mention, my tired old eyes don't have to decide- "is that cloudy moat full or empty"? 2- Looks considerably nicer than a cloudy plastic bug-filled cup of water hanging over your classy feeder. 3- Excellent customer support! 5 stars if the gel hold up in the "hot" summer months.

Our hummingbird feeder used to fill up with ants in no time. Had no luck with any of the other ant-deterrents we tried. This really works. Now the birds can get all the nectar and the ants are out of luck.

Update January 2018. Company contacted me and offered to replace broken unit, even though return date had passed. Excellent customer service and company stands behind product. Ant guard works great.Three months after I bought it, the bottom hook broke so it is useless. It is too late to return. It worked well until it broke.

We are really pleased with our BugSnub hummingbird hanger!! It is an excellent product in design and function! It is made with quality materials and was super easy to install. The design and size of the hook makes it simple to add more nectar to the feeder. We have had it for a few weeks now and love how it stops any ants from getting to the hummingbird feeder! This was a really great purchase! Highly recommended product!! Thank you!!

It keeps bugs off feeder but after two months it felt apart and the glass feeder fell to the ground. Don’t hang a glass feeder on it cause it obviously can’t take the weight. Edit: the company saw my review and promptly sent a message saying they would replace the defective item. I have faith these new ones won’t fall apart. It’s obviously an honest company.

ANAZING! I have fought a plethora of ants climbing up a column to the second story deck to get to my hummingbird feeder. I followed the simple instructions, added this to the hook before the feeder and the ants are all GONE! Hummingbirds are happy and do am I.
