Game changer! The inventor of this strainer is a genius! It connects to any size pan or bowl as long as it has a rounded edge. It saves so much space! The clamps hold steady to whatever you clamp it to for draining. I don't clamp it to my pan until I'm ready to drain the liquid off, but it appears you could if you wanted to. It's an intelligent design and a quality product. It makes cooking pasta, or browning beef, and numerous other things, so much easier to drain. The price point is really well set. Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is so convenient! I don’t have a ton of space for an old school metal colander so I thought I would give this a try. This has fit on every pot and pan I have used it for. It’s sturdy, easy to clean and takes up hardly any space.

I guess if you’re short on space this item is worth buying. Otherwise, I would prefer a regular strainer, which I should have bought..My major complaint is, you have to be careful attaching it to your pot, or otherwise some of your food may escape and not be strained. And, depending on the pot, it can be a little awkward to use, especially for those with wrist pain, rather than simply dumping your food into a standalone strainer.It works, you just need to be careful.
