Gold Dust: Stories of Oregon's Mining Years
R**O
Fun and quite usable mining information too !
This book is a fascinating look into some of the old gold mining camps and towns of Oregon. Most of them now less than ghost towns, yet memories and stories told do feed Mr. Jacksons pen. The section on the Land Grant and mining law is very informative and useful even today. These old laws are the basis of much of our law today, and much of them still in effect, though the meanings of some of the terms might have changed.Well worth the $. I plan on giving a few copies next Christmas.

Gold Dust
The booklet is stated to be about the Oregons' gold rush years but in fact its about the SW Oregon gold rush years. It does have more detailed history of some more notable find's in SW Oregon.

Serious effort by Kerby Jackson
This book will simplify your quest for gold . . . if you decide to pursue it in Oregon. Gold is found these days normally where it was found in the old days . . you just have to dig deeper. And that is what Kerby has done here . . dig deep and get the history of Oregon's gold zones documented so people can learn from the past. This book is a must have for prospectors, geologists, suction dredgers, hard rock miners, metal detectorists, gemstone and lapidary hunters, treasure hunters, old bottle collectors and anyone wanting to do research for their own book.
