A good phone but built to keep costs down.
Bought this phone as a stop-gap as my Sony Xperia M4 Aqua had stopped working (after only 11 weeks! But sent back to Sony and they tell me a "part is needed and is on order" so I might get my Xperia back soon).Takes a "standard" SIM (mine is a nano) but my adapters fit fine-as does the MicroSD card taken out of my M4 Aqua. The phone itself looks quite nice with a very bright screen. However, I feel that it has been made to a cost as the case feels a little flimsy and the rear casing is a touch difficult to remove. When I first opened the back casing to fit the battery/Sim/SD card, I was worried that I might break the case but all was well and I was up and running in minutes.Set up is a breeze with an older version of Android (4.2 Jellybean). I had to personalise as I'm pay-as-you-go and I didn't want the constant data upload as it would cost me credit. The phone is very fast (screen wise) as I thought it might be a bit slow. Wi-Fi is excellent (better than my Xperia!). Accessing all of my photos/music on the SD card is a bit of a rigmarole-the music is split into albums/genre etc. but I haven't tried the music yet so I will have to see. Speakers are a bit on the quiet side-both phone and loud speaker despite being turned up to max.Conclusions...Screen very good, Android OS a little old but works fine. Speakers/sound on phone calls a bit on the quiet side despite having all of the volumes turned up to maximum. The phone itself-as I have said above-feels a bit flimsy as I firmly believe it has been built to keep costs down.Recommended? Yes but don't expect the build quality of an Apple/Samsung/Sony etc. A good first smartphone or as a back-up to your existing phone. But for £41 you can't complain and at this price it's well worth buying one!

Best phone for a good headache
The phone makes and receives calls as expected and that works fine. It took my micro SIM (no extra tray needed), just push it carefully inside the slot to the right hand side et voilá. Stays there and it works. One star there. Managed ok a few apps (Mail, Pay by phone, Whataspp, Spotify and Google Maps - SD card is a must) but beware it is slow. I wasn't expecting anything amazing for the price but thought it would cope. If like me, thinking of it as a temporary replacement (my main phone got broken, I am used to a different experience) look for something else. I would try something with at least 1M RAM. For busy days this is not. Texting is a chore on this phone, the screen is not as responsive so you always end up with some 'unpredictable' words, places and songs -if you dare to go there. Mail? NO way!. Maybe there is something wrong with my fingers but I've been using this kind of gadgets for years without needing a finger transplant. You want to open A and it opens B helping it to perform even slower... It's just like my local café where you ask for a latte and end up with a hot chocolate. Photos? None taken in four weeks. Unless you HAVE to take one, don't bother.I know it is cheap ish and perhaps aimed to younger/entry markets but it is not a great quality piece. Maybe that's the way to go so younger generations will hate using mobile phones so another star for the good will.I will give a big hug to the postman when he brings my old phone back. For now, deep breath and carry on, this thing is going to the draw and won't see much light until the next spring clean.Delivery took over a week (glad didn't pay extra for it) and after I sent an email asking about the SIM tray and whether they would provide one or not, their reply was 'Will send one after transaction is completed'. No idea when this was completed as it never got here. Charming service. Please note that a lot of the 'good reviews' are from people that openly accept they don't know much about mobile phones (old and young). It certainly depends on individual needs but for me, it hasn't been a productive/joyful experience. Lesson learned.

Just works Great value....
Ive had mobile phones for years, the first phone was a Motorola in the late 80's size of a house brick, been through Nokia Blackberry and more recently iPhone, but having had my iPhone stolen questioned the logic in replacing it, but every one makes phones that just get bigger... So this looked like a bargain, but is it any good, well yes, its around £40, put the sim card in and just works. Yes the screen is smaller than the trend but fits in your pocket and just does what it says, Its a phone! it sends texts, it sends email and web access. Yes the keyboards a bit small to type, but hey get a kindle or lap top....I've now ordered a larger memory card so can move some of my iTunes music over, Bluetooth works good in the car, so all in I'm very happy.Updated, I'm updating this as when you find a bargain it's worth telling people. Size is comparable with iPhone 5c but at a fraction of the price, cup is a bit slower and screen is not quite as sensitive. But it's £50 and if I break or loose it it's easy to replace, most apps I use like drop box work just fine and found a program that will sync iTunes, that was just a few pounds so I'm happy that it's now a cheap iphone.GPS works well for sat nav, Bluetooth connects to car without any problems. So would I recommend again, well yes, would I buy an iPhone in preference, no way.If you really want the prestige of an iPhone then fine, if you want a phone that works and you don't care about then this is it.If you want a faster cpu and camera on both sides, then look at the 550. It's a bit larger screen but so are most newer phones.
