Great product - good quality and very entertaining

This is a new version of the original Squiddy by Hamleys. The original version from the box was very good - moving quickly in the water, spinning, changing direction and surfacing and diving. It's big problem was that water got into the battery compartment and it stopped working not long later.This new version has a redesigned battery compartment, led lights in the nose and a cage round the propeller. The result is that Squiddy barely moves in the water, goes slowly in circles and water still gets into the battery compartment. So by trying to address the previous poor design issues they have actually managed to make the product even worse. I can only imagine no one actually tested this new version before putting it up for sale.It pains me to say it, as my 2 Yr old loved his original Squiddy, but AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Such a shame Hameys can't get a grip in what fundamentally would be a great toy.

After 3 uses, water got in and it then leaked brown battery acid into my sons bath. Shame because its movement is really good and was quite fun at first. Risk vs reward - not safe enough for young kids.

This is a fun toy for use in a bathtub and my 4-year old has absolutely loved playing with it. However, after one week's use, it's stopped working for the same reason as most other comments before me has mentioned - water inside the squid where the batteries can be found. I am surprised that water managed to get in, but presume it is from the part where the propeller is situated, as the two parts holding it together is pretty tight. I intend to give it another go with a new one, just to see whether placing the battery compartment after use on a radiator (without the batteries inside), as mentioned by a previous comment, will do the trick. Wish me luck.

Like the shape, the speed, not too noisy... I personally dislike that one or two of the tails they are a litlle bit bended so the toy always tend to go into rightside. Not the perfect toy but any way ...

Awful service, this arrived and didn't work. The battery compartment was really poor quality and I was left with two very dissapointted children. I immediately messaged asking for a reacement and now over a month later have received nothing either a replacement or refund?
