Beyond Brilliant
My teenage daughter and I use this book and laugh out loud with the crazy comedy scenes. We are new-found fans of this author and also enjoy (and learn a lot from ) his Amazon blog posts, which are very thoughtful, informative, and jam-packed with good, creative ideas about the entertainment industry. This book is just phenomenal. Author has the rare gift of being able to speak to the young actors in training without talking down to them, and that, I believe, is why my teen daughter and I so thoroughly enjoy practicing with this book of short, quirky comedy and drama scenes for pre-teen and younger performers.

Awesome
I gave this book to my 12 year old nephew, who is into theater, for Christmas. He was so excited when he saw the book. He showed everyone at the party! I hope this gives him lots of valuable practice and advice for his next audition! I’m so glad I found this on Amazon. It was a hit!

Well written and fun
I wanted this book for my teacher husband and he and I were both impressed with it! He will be sharing it with other teachers but it is also something that anyone who works with kids can appreciate. I think beyond an acting approach it can be a fun, different way towards helping with memorization and/or creative thinking (adding details or backstories to the monologues).

"Acting Scenes for Kids and Tweens" is a wonderful addition to Mike's acting scenes books
Another delightful and creative book for young actors. "Acting Scenes for Kids and Tweens" is a wonderful addition to Mike's acting scenes books. This book contains brilliantly written scenes that are not only fun to deliver, but educational and inspirational as well. I especially like how the book is organized and categorized. The four different scene groups assist the reader in finding just the right scene desired. The font and spacing make an easy read for the performer. Solid material and very well done Mr. Kimmel!

Worst book- do not buy this for your kids
I would give this book zero stars if I could! This book is absolutely ridiculous. I wanted to find a good acting book for my 10 year old only to have her read me the most disturbing things. It’s like a book to brain wash your kids into thinking weird things about parents and things they do. There is literally a title called “how grown-ups don’t think” it talks about how this person is smoking and that’s why grown ups don’t think. Another title is my overprotective father. Like are you effing serious. Read the scenes on the photos I posted. DO NOT BUY YOUR KIDS THIS BOOK.

Disappointed
Was hoping this would be a good resource to use with my elementary students and save me some time… but no. The skits are way too short and they all seem incomplete. Way too simple. I write better scripts for my students myself.

Not worth it
Not great! Far better books out there.

Average Drama dialogues
Scenes are easy to read for Junior students (grades 4-6). Dialogues are okay. Comedic ones are not that funny. Has the word “stupid” in some of the dialogues which isn’t appropriate for A Catholic school.
