Albeit the good reviews I was weary whether it would perform its said function, mainly because of the low £4.99 cost and the fact that the picture of the product didn't fill me with confidence, looked cheap and flimsy. Having said that I received a completely different cutter, In black and in fact made the grey cutter in the picture seem superior and robust... because of the low cost I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Works brilliantly on PVC slats. I don't think you would be able to cut more then 2 sets of blinds until it's starts falling apart. Like many have suggested I would tape the base and measure to stop it from possibly moving. Can't really complain about having received a different product, I needed slat's cutting and that's exactly what I got. Handy piece of kit worked a treat most of the time and using slowly made a good job of trimming both ends ofa 1.6m drop Venetian Blind.Only problem, needed to stop and empty the cut ends out of cutter as they did not drop through but accumulatedunder the cutter blade. Got about 10 cut and then clean out. Made a good job and blade still sharp.

Great gadget cut my blinds quick and easy, after measuring how much i need to cut off.I used small hacksaw to cut top and bottom of the blind and then indiviually cut the blinds using slat cutter . you have to be careful that you do not snag or cut too short but I found it easy to use and blinds look great. My advice do not rush cutting and cut each one individual , I bought new blind kept it together loosend a bit and then used left hand keeping blinds together and used right hand to cut each one as I went along. Made my job so much easier before I then put it in my window.

Works well but the shortest length to trim that it can handle is quite long. I managed to pack out the back so I could make a shorter trim but it should say minimum as well as maximum trimming lengths

Despite initial misgivings (it does look VERY plasticky and flimsy) this cut through (single) plastic blind slats perfectly, leaving the edges rounded and very neat. It took about 30 minutes to do one side of a 2m deep blind. It will only cut one slat at a time (I tried 2 and it wasn’t as neat a finish) and I couldn’t promise it would work on metal blinds (although - at this price, I’d be prepared to risk it), but it was perfect for what I needed it to do.

I’ve had and used mine for nearly 8 years. It works fine. Just remember to take your time and line the slat up properly before you cut. Only cut one slat at time.
