This unique wooden book pendant has been hand-carved and shaped from a little piece of alder. It is decorated to look old and worn. This is done by burning the wooden surface - an art form also known as pyrography (wood burning). The Book is that of The Little Prince / Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry The size of this pendant is approximately 0.8 x 1.2 inch / 2 x 3 cm. It has a beeswax oil finish, which really brings out the color of the wood, and leaves a matte surface. It is non-toxic. No stain or dye has been used to color the wood. This pendant comes with a brown leather necklace (with lobster clasp) that has a length of 17 inch / 45 cm. These images show the actual pendant you will receive. This handmade pendant is unique, the only one of its kind. No two pendants in my shop are shaped exactly the same. Each one also has different pyrography. The pictures have been taken in daylight, yet the colors of the natural wood may vary slightly. All my pendants are fashion jewelry. They are not intended to shower, swim or exercise with. Long-term exposure to water or sweat will not break the pendant, but will damage the protective finishing.
