Seems to work
Not bad, easy to use, and not uncomfortable, it does seem to be working, definitely less hairy in the areas I've been using it.

A solid entry in the growing field of IPL devices with clear instruction manual
This is my second rodeo with this type of device. For me it is a very attractive unit. A useful manual is included that is well-illustrated and has clear instructions, unlike the other unit that I reviewed. Also, this one is noticeably higher-powered than the other unit. The user must understand that results will not be instantaneous. Rather, this is a process involving numerous treatments over eight or more weeks which will gradually lead to increasingly hair-free skin. It is ac powered (not rechargeable) with the included 120-240V adapter. There are two small buttons. One is for power (long press) and setting intensity from 1-5 (short press). The other small button activates the ice-cool mode. There is also a large button. As the unit is held against the skin at a 90 degree angle, a short push of the large button sets off a rather bright flash (manual function). A long push on the large button when it is not near skin will activate the auto function so that the flash goes off automatically whenever the the unit it brought near to the skin. In this way a large area can be covered quickly. Hair should be shaved off before using the device. This device will not work with all hair and skin colors.

Seems to be working
I’ve been using this machine for about 3 or 4 weeks now and my hair on my legs seems to be growing in much patchier than usual so I’m very excited to see what results the full eight weeks will yield ! It’s very simple to use and at the highest setting I couldn’t feel anything except for a little bit of warmth on my legs, however I have to go down to half way power for armpits or the bikini line because it felt like a sharp snap of a rubber band. This one is quite a bit cheaper than some of the other brands I was looking at so I’m pleased with the quality for the price. Will update after eight weeks!

A bit overpriced
Review for: NIUQICT Laser Hair Removal for Women and Men - New Upgraded at Home Use IPL Hair Removal Device Permanent & Protection - 5 Levels Laser Hair Removal for Face Legs Arms and Whole Body WhiteThis one keeps getting offered but then the older pages for them keep disappearing despite being the same models which is a bit suspiciousPros=standardized and effective unit used by this and other sellers=includes cooling (and should at this price)=48w vs. 36wStandard=1M flashesCons=cylinder shape is harder to hold=priceIPL GeneralitiesUnits are pretty standardized other than features like cooling, power in watts, shape and build quality. You need to shave prior to use. Usually, they give you a razor but feel free to use your own.Make sure you wear safety glasses. Who knows what damage you could do.=does not work on certain skin or hair colors. See the chart that's included in most IPL. People that find they don't work typically have the wrong matches in the chart for compatibility or aren’t waiting a very long time before you see results.

Little overpriced..
I like this IPL machine because it cools why your using the laser. It comes with the machine, protective glasses and a razor. However I do feel that it’s slightly overpriced.

IPL hair removal tool adds active cooling (ICE), mid-power (48W), and is surprisingly small (white)
IPL hair removal tool adds active cooling (ICE), mid-power (48W), and is surprisingly small (white)It's amazing how quickly IPL (Intense Light Pulse) hair removal devices have proliferated. Once a few big brands demonstrated that there's a market, a lot of alternatives flooded in. The good news is that this means you can get the same functionality for less money.I've tried a large number of these IPL devices at this point, and I can say that these IPL devices all work pretty similarly, with only a few differences separating them. If you are looking for hair removal, then the most significant differences mostly amount to ergonomics (shape of the device and positions of the buttons) and whether it integrates "ICE" functionality to actively cool the region to which you're applying the light. This is a mid-priced unit that adds ICE Cooling functionality and is surprisingly small, but still is more powerful than many (48W).Specifics of this IPL device:** Only performs hair removal** Includes ICE skin cooling functionality** LCD screen shows the number of flashes left and power level (1-5), plus whether ICE auto auto modes are on/off** Rated for 48W (mid range)** Unusually small IPL device, travel friendly and good for those who have trouble holding large items** Rated for 999,999 flashesOperation is pretty trivial:1) Attach the power cord to the IPL device (the device is NOT battery operated--you must have it plugged in).2) Turn on the device via the power button, which is a button on the side of the device3) Choose the power level to use (you have five levels, and you cycle through them using short pushes of the power button). The level will be indicated on the LCD screen.4) Place the front end of the device against the skin you are trying to treat and push the flash button (located in the lower-middle of the top of the IPL device). There is a ~1s refractory period after flashing before you can flash again.5) Ice technology, which actively cools the metal region that comes in contact with your skin, is turned on/off by pressing the "freeze" button on the side. If it's on, a snowflake icon will show up on the LCD displayThe light is extremely powerful and could damage your eyes with continued direct exposure. Therefore, you should never look directly into the light and a cheap pair of folding protective eyeglasses are included in the box. The light is triggered by sensors in the front of the device. Using very slow-motion photography, I was able to capture a snapshot of the light (see photos). But the light duration is extremely short. You run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair and make sure you expose all the hair follicles in that region. You will not see any immediate results. The light signals your hair to stop growing, but it requires multiple treatments over several weeks before you will be expected to see results. Eventually, you should find a substantial reduction in the hair in the treated areas. In the box, you get the tool, a power cord, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions.A word about the "ice" functionality, because this listing provides almost no detail (nor do those for other IPL devices):Ice functionality is another term for "Local epidermal cooling."This is given various names in listings, one of the most common is "ice function" or "ice-cooling". This is local cooling of the epidermal region (surface skin) in the region where the IPL light pulse is being applied. The high-powered light can be irritating to some people, and cooling the skin in that region can reduce the immediate irritation. (It does not improve/decrease efficacy of the treatment). This cooling effect is achieved via a Peltier junction semiconductor and a good thermoconducting material at the head of the IPL device (frequently sapphire or aluminum) that transmits the cold that the semiconductor generates to the skin. (A heatsink and fan inside the IPL device remove the heat that the Peltier junction also produces).Epidermal cooling is not required for efficient use, but it may make it less unpleasant to use the device for some users. This IPL device is mid-priced relative to other IPL devices on Amazon, but it does add the "ICE" cooling functionality. It's also smaller than almost all the many IPL devices I have evaluated, and would be preferable for travel on that account. It would also be a good choice for those who have issues holding heavier devices The rated power is 48W, which is in the middle of the range of power you typically see for these home IPL devices (between 30W and 60W).Summary:Pros:** Unusually small device will appeal to those who want a lighter IPL device and/or those who want to travel with it** Integrates epidermal cooling (ICE)** LCD readout** Feels well constructed** Mid-range power (48W)Cons:** Not the cheapest IPL device you can buy** The small shape is not as natural feeling in the hand as a gun-shaped IPL
