The media could not be loaded.  This bug zapper was VERY useful in helping me control my annual fruit fly problem I have each Summer. For some reason, probably because of all the humidity and buying more fruit, I will have an influx of gnats and fruit flies in my kitchen, living area and bedroom. My kitchen and living room are already accounted for with their own zappers but if I ever bring a snack or fruits into my bedroom they will attract pesky fruit flies, the tiny ones that are almost impossible to swat (or see until they land on you, your food, or a lit device), even with an electric zapper. They are attracted to light and will annoyingly fly around or land on my face when using my phone at night and just create an overall nuisance if they breed into any left out pieces of fruit or food scraps. It was nearly impossible for me to enjoy sitting in my room at night, and worse for my bathroom, which is within my master bedroom, that attracts them as well with the extra moisture in there.Setting up this light around the trash bin in my bathroom has dramatically decreased their population and given me so much peace knowing that I don't have to worry about them breeding and buzzing all over my food and drinks that I bring into my bedroom. Almost immediately after plugging it in, I heard zap after zap go off, a much more pleasant sound to me than the buzzing of the gnats. Within a few days, the buzzing reduced from a steady set of zaps to barely hearing any at all, so I'm assured that the situation is now under control. These also work great for larger flies, like horse flies and even some smaller moths, the former being a huge problem in my kitchen if left without the intervention of these sort of zappers.If you're having these sort of pest problems, definitely try to get one of these zappers, working best in absolute darkness, but can often catch flies if you pull the curtains or draw the blinds in the room you place it in. My only complaint with this is that there is no on / off switch on the unit and you need to unplug this each time to turn it off. The plug, barely 3 feet, is short compared to other zappers I have bought in the past so there is only a limited amount of space you can use this in unless you want to use an extension cord. The cord also attaches to the top of the unit, so if your outlet is below it, you lose nearly half of the cord trying to reach it. Other than that, it works just as well as similar zappers I have and helped take care of a very annoying, potentially health-damaging fly / pest problem within a matter of a few nights so that's all that really matters to me.

The only problem is that cleaning it is hard. Outer slats are side to side, metal zappers are up and down. This makes it very difficult to clean.

When I first got this, I saw the short power cord and thought, I’m probably going to return this, but decided to plug it in overnight anyway, I’m an outlet a few feet from our patio door (not in the location I had initially intended) just to see how it did.Well, the next morning I checked it and was amazed by how many bugs it had gotten! Definitely won me over. We have used this all summer and it definitely seems to have helped keep the bugs down on our patio and sometimes we plug it in near the door of our camping trailer.My husband initially rolled his eyes when he saw this purchase, but now he is in love.

The UV light draws them in, and the high-voltage electric grid quickly gets rid of them once they are there. It took me by surprise how soon it started to make a difference in the number of insects that were found in the area surrounding my patio. It is built to endure the elements, including the rain and the intense sunshine that may be found outside. Because it is made of long-lasting materials, it will be reliable for many years to come, and I will be able to spend nights outside without being bothered by insects. This insect zapper places a premium on the user's peace of mind with regard to safety. Because the outside grid is intended to stop people from accidentally touching it, you won't have to worry about that happening, which is particularly comforting when there are young children or animals around. Additionally, the electrical grid can be removed without much effort, which makes it quite easy for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

This has been an awesome fix to the flies problem we had. This has caught all flies and no more flies in the house or in the garage!

Everything was excellent

It didn't kill a single bug, though we saw them flying around for the few hours that this light came on. It went out the second or third time I plugged it in. The company was responsive and sent instructions for making sure the bulb was plugged in properly, which I tried without success. I returned it. I gave it one more star than I might have because a friend has had one for several years that is just fine.

So, I've been using this bug zapper when I sit outside by my pool at night to cut down on the mosquitoes and flies aggravating me. Bugs are attracted to the light instead of me, so they fly right in and get zapped. It also reduces the number of bugs flying around outside near my pool. It plugs into an outlet, I have plenty outdoor outlets but if you don't, you might want to use an extension cord. It has a hook on the top so you can hang it, this would work well for camping. It's not very big so it's easily packed and it works really well.
