A Cupboard Staple Returns!
Dried tortellini were a cupboard staple in my home for many years until they disappeared from supermarket shelves. These ones by Barilla are excellent quality and so delicious. They cook up beautifully, perfectly tender without falling apart and are just the right size to eat comfortably if you want to serve them in brodo or any other soup, obviously they're fine to serve up in a sauce too. It's great that they can be stored at ambient temperature and won't go off in a hurry, so they're always there when you fancy something quick and savoury. Great for camping too. My only complaint is that it looks like amazon is clearing old stock. There were only three months on mine and 10 packets is a lot to get through as the portion suggestions err on the generous. (Between you and me I'm not too worried by use by dates on this type of product, but it's the principle of the thing. They really ought to give the dates prior to purchase, especially when I paid more than the current advertised price.)

Buonissimo
Great for a lazy 10 minute meal, been eating these for years. One note is: the seller uses Evri but if you hate Evri, as I do, they will happily send it via Parcel Force for no extra cost.

Almost like back at home
I am from Castelfranco Emilia the town where Tortellini was invented, in the province of Modena, Italy. If, like me, you live outside of Italy and if your Mamma is not staying with you, then these Tortellini are probably the closest thing to the original. Still quite distant, but the closest nonetheless. Just ignore the instructions and cook them in good quality chicken stock. Serve in the stock with a generous sprinkle of Parmigiano Reggiano. Boom.

Convenient and good taste
I have tried both the ham and cheese and cheese ones and surprisingly prefer the cheese. They are both good though and excellent when low on fresh groceries. I also like to add them to soups.

WELL WORTH BUYING
I always take pot luck when buying something like these but they are yummy and really good value for money and are fab if you can't be bothered to cook a full meal but want better nutrition than take out.
