Thermo-Tec 14100 24" X 48" Cool-It Mat

Used this to redo the insulation on my B4000's HVAC box. It was the perfect thickness and so easy to cut even with dull scissors and requiring some precise cuts to clear the shape of the box itself too. It also came with some push in clips which I used to secure larger sections along with some hi temp spray adhesive.

Arrived as stated and well packaged. I bought this item to use as a heat barrier between a cargo rack which goes into the hitch receiver on my Jeep and wanted a heat shield between the heat from the exhaust and any item I was carrying on the external cargo rack. I had read of circumstances where users of cargo racks had problems with the heat from the exhaust melting/ruining items on the cargo rack and this thermo blanket worked well and prevented any heat-related issues.

I bought this to serve as a radiant heat barrier in a D.I.Y. Cerakote oven I built. Works exceedingly well for the purpose. When the oven is 300 degrees on the inside, the outside is warm but cool enough to hold my hand on it indefinitely. the oven is 15" x 15" x 48" and three of these mats lined the entire thing.

I used this to replace the Moldy Fiber glass insulation that was on the inside of my AC/Furnace Air Handler, So far its doing the job, but next time I will order Two rolls to make it double thick.

I use it to block exhaust manifold heat in the van dog house. It works in blocking the heat, but the inside foil has burned away in spots where it touches the exhaust.

I did a bit of research before my purchase, and I believe I may have asked too much from the the product in an attempt to save money. I used the product where there was not adiquate space for the product to perform. I believe it requires 1 or 2 inches of space I just did not have the space so it is being tore up under my truck and I will be replacing it in a few weeks with a more apropriate and expensive product.

Thin fiberglass with lightweight, low temperature facing made of plastic and aluminized paper. It smokes at 450F. The "2000F radiant" they shout about is about like saying my bedsheets are good for 10,000F because they don't burn up on the clothesline, and gosh, the sun is 10,000 degrees. Horse pucky. We have an actual high temp application, and it's not going to cut it.

I used this in an RV to replace the insulation in the generator compartment. Scrape off all the old insulation and glue, then use contact cement on both surfaces to mount the sheet. Cut the sheet to size. Seems to work great.
