This thing is great for seedlings. Keeps things nice and humid/warm inside while establishing new plants. The built in light is just enough for baby plants to get them started without damaging them.

The media could not be loaded. Impressive starter kit.Fit and finish are very good.The price is competitive with other brands, however the durability is questionable. The plastics are on the thin side. However, sturdy because it is square shape. The longevity depends on how one respects their belongings.All settings and accessories function per the description.The heating mat temperature and the thermostat control are relatively accurate (+/- 1° f).The built in timer is optional to use and changes colors depending on the schedule (Off, 8/16, 12/12, 18/6). The selector switch provides feedback with a solid feel and loud click sound so you definitely know you pressed the selector button. So does the entire household.The light intensity settings and timer settings have memory as long as it is connected to a power source. Unplug the power cord and all settings are lost. An external timer is a no go. A power outage will definitely be inconvenient.The light panels lay nicely snug in their designated position. Nothing to secure them in place. Use slight care when removing the lid. Perhaps secure the light panels with painters tape (less adhesive) for easy removal.Test time…The readings will fluctuate by a couple numbers depending on the ambient lighting. I tested the lights in a well lit living room; artificial lighting/natural ambient lighting from windows.I tested the PPFD (umol/m2/s) and DLI with the Photone Pro app with their optional (recommended) diffuser.The phone with diffuser was then placed on top of the seed tray. Pros:-Lots of cells for seedlings-tall humidity dome so seedlings can grow-retains moisture well-little slots on dome for lights-good germination rate with the lights-lots of supplies for the price, decent bundleCons:-not very sturdy, especially the cells. The plastic is thin and crinkly. i won’t be able to reuse the cells more than once or twice.-flimsy cells makes it hard to bottom water as that tray bends a lot with the weight of the soil and water-lights not great past germination stage, my seedlings ended up thin and spindly

I purchased this to streamline the process and it has done just that. I’m able to place rock wool or soul directly into the tray. The dome with vents is great and I’m able to control the humidity within fairly easily. The leds fit securely into the lid and have adjustable power and timers for all cycles. The heating pad works great! Makes it super easy to keep the unit at a constant temp. It’s a bit flimsy as far as the plastic but that’s pretty much expected. Easy to clean up and start a new round. I’d definitely recommend this!

This is a great all in one seed germination kit. The warming mat and lights seem good and the lights have a built in timer for 8,12, and 18 hours on which is great. Unfortunately, like every bad review, the dome was badly cracked. I called the customer service and spoke to a live person which was nice. I was hoping to just get a new dome sent to my house but they do not offer this option. They instead offered a partial refund or I could just send the whole thing back to amazon. I was able to repair the crack with clear packaging tape so I took the partial refund. Just a warning though, I do not see a way to just buy the seed tray from vivosun so if it breaks, you will have to buy a different brand and the LED light bars will not likely fit in other brands. I was going to give 4 stars since I do think the value is good even though the dome cracks easily but I decreased it 3 stars because this has got to be a well known issue at this point with so many reviewers having the same problem.

Everyone says, Soak your seeds for a while, then transplant them into damp papertowels, then transplant that into soil for the best germination rate..... BULL!I did the soak, and the bag method on 10 seeds, 3 of them popped and sprouted.I decided to buy this thing and I put the seeds directly into soil. Poured a little water in the base, dampened the soil, and ALL 6 seeds I planted have sprouted. All without transplanting anything.Heating the whole container to 90f was easy to set and that was it. Walked away and checked a few days, and it seems to be keeping it at a steady warm temp.I do have one WISH, That was that this was a little larger for taller plants. I wish I could grow in this microenvironment for a little while longer before needing to transplant them into the final bed.

I had such high hopes for this purchase. First off, it arrived cracked and actually melted on the first use. In my attempt to be a good sport, i purchased another. This was absolutely mistake! The mat on the first purchase as well as the second, failed to work. It does turn on, but doesn't heat up at all. Absolutely ridiculous. never again. Extremely disappointed.

Working great. Only issue I have is longevity. The tray, insert and cover are very thin plastic and will break down over a short time. The heater mat and lights are made very well and should last a very long time.

I think it's needed to put a warning in the description to make it clearer that this is made for the American market and therefore not useable in Europe due to the difference in voltage.

Love the trays and vents .Wished each tray came with lights, only came with 2 sets of lights and the cords connected together so there's only one plug in rather than 6.

Use these for my flower starts.For the price, great quality.Will buy another set.
