This is a simple device that is used on a surf spinning rod to protect your index finger from braided lines when casting 4 oz or heavier rigs. It is meant to attach to the rod with tape or cable ties.This version looks similar to other versions and appears to be well-made. We’ll see how well the metal components hold up to salt water.Update: It is easy to set up and use and I was able to improve casting distance. There is no sign of corrosion yet. My index finger has been saved from damage.
