Judy Richter's Riding for Kids: Stable Care, Equipment, Tack, Clothing, Longeing, Lessons, Jumping, Showing

I have rode horses for almost six years (I was six when I started). I am in the intermediate/advanced classes. This book taught how to bridge your reins, following hand, leg yields ext.When I first started reading this book I didn’t know how to do any of these things. They also had a nice way to teach a good two -point by showing a picture and then saying what the person did right and what they did wrong. The book is good for all people at any riding stage - not just for kids or beginners.

This book is full of information and very goog for kids interested in horse riding/care!

We got this book after a few other people at the barn had purchased and liked it a lot. A lot of the things it teaches are some of the tasks that everyone needs to learn at the barn for this "level testing" they're starting. The book has been great, lots of illustrations and knowledgeable author. My 11 year old already knew a lot of the things, but it was still good to find the little tips and tricks in there :). Overall, GREAT book, AWESOME information. Would recommend completely.

Great book for my horse loving and riding eight year old!

I bought this book for my 5 year old daughter who is obsessed with anything to do with horses. She started riding and it's a great book us to read with her so that we can reinforce what she learns during her lessons. Great photos of what to do and not to do. The pictures are colorful and the information is easy for a 5 year old to comprehend. Great book for kids who want to learn all about care and riding of horses!

I bought this book for my 3 year old granddaughter who is obsessed with anything to do with horses. She has just started riding and it's great for her parents to read with her so that she can learn all about taking care of horses, the equipment and most anything else she needs to learn about riding. The pictures are colorful and the information is easy for even a 3-4 year old to comprehend. Great book for kids who want to learn all about care and riding of horses!

I bought this book for my daughter. She started riding just over a year ago and we wanted her to have something to give her more background at home.It was also a bit of a preparation for her, as we were getting her a horse. She found it easy to read and to follow and refers to it often if she needs clarification on something or just wants a refresher.The book is well written and has clear pictures.

Bought this fir my grand-son's 10th birthday as he goes to a riding club each week. He was really pleased with his book. Very informative and one he can look into it, as he gets older too.

This book by a teaching professional with many years of experience is about the best possible short book which can educate young beginning riders on all the necessary basics. Her mentors are themselves legendary - William (Bill) Steinkraus, the USA's first Olympic gold medalist in showjumping, and Bertalan de Nmethy, who was the coach of the very successful US show-jumping team for 25 years. Her own reputation needs no more recommendation than the fact that Bill Steinkraus sent his own two sons to her to learn riding.

Lovely hook bought for my son to teach him all the basics.
