Solid e-bike, easy to assembly, a joy to ride
I was on the fence about getting an e-bike, but while looking online, I found Heybike and subscribed to their website. Every time they sent a new message, I returned to them because of how attractive their bikes were. I looked into reviews, and the majority seemed to recommend the company. Finally, I decided to take the plunge on 12/19. Shipping was $200, but I received the e-bike in three days! Assembly was super easy. I just watched their YouTube video for the model I bought and followed the instructions. I paused and rewinded a lot to ensure I was doing it correctly, but I am not a handy person, so I was being super careful. In about 45 minutes, I completed the assembly process by myself. The bike is super solid, and all the components seem high quality. The Ranger S is a heavier bike than I am used to, but this is my first e-bike, so my comparison criteria might not be fair. The bike folds in half very quickly by releasing the safety lever, which is also easy. One thing that I would recommend the maker do is include a lock so it stays folded. The bike comes with turning signals in the rear and back, a brilliant LED light in the front, and a lead in the back beside the brake light. I love that you can remove the battery to provide extra security, carry an additional battery, or make it easier to charge inside. Using the app, you will also have a lock mechanism and a GPS locator. The bike is set by default to run at 20mph, but a simple change in the app seems to allow you to go as fast as 28mph; I have not tested the distance yet. The seat is super comfortable, and I got the front basket and the saddlebags for the back. In summary, I am enjoying it right now. I will add to this review once I have used it longer.

Read my Review! I love my Bike
I love my bikes: Pros: Bike is very well made. Excellent finish, superb welds, attachments are sold and easy to use. Very comfortable ride on pavement at the campground. Easy to mount. Excellent lighting and great looks. Everyone wants to ride it. I got about 40 miles out of the charged battery with some peddling to assist it. Bike is very quick and top speed of 38 mph Cons: Bike is heavy (well built) Seat could be just a bit wider maybe. Im not a heavy person or big butt..still could be a little bigger seat. Not terribly easy to fold or load on the bike rack. Its a bit cumbersome. Not a small bike..mid-sized Overall I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. Absolutely would buy again.

A tank of a bike with good battery life
I would definitely buy this beast again. My thoughts... As other reviews have said this bike is a tank. It's not meant for small or lightweight people. The battery has an excellent life. For me (at about 200# including gear and backpacK) I was able to go make it 34 miles at 15-25mph (depending on trail conditions/crowding) with some charge left in the battery but not much. One Youtube review I saw about this bike said the guy got 50 miles in level 1 pedal assist (max 10mph) - I have better things to do than spend 5 hours being passed by every other bicycle on the trail so don't consider that a realistic estimate. One frustrating thing about this bike is that it estimates your battery "charge" based on your current pedaling situation. For instance on the 34 mile test ride, most of the way there was uphill so I ended up turning around before I needed to because the charge indicator was bouncing between 1 and 2 bars. But on the way back it was downhill so the battery indicator went back up to 3 bars (out of 5) and made it all the way back before it started to switch between one and two bars. On the plus side this behavior has made me a little more cautious about when I need to turn around, but I would really prefer it to be more linear. The manual is a little cryptic in spots, especially figuring out how to turn the governor up to allow it to do 28 mph, but the actual settings are pretty straight forward once you figure them out. When charged and left turned off, it does a great job keeping the charge. I have a Segway kick scooter that when left off will lose almost its entire charge over 3-4 weeks while this bike seems to be at the same fully charged level during that same period of inactivity. I ended up removing the bottle holder because it "clutters" the area between the seat and handlebars, it wouldn't be too bad keeping it on there but that distance is shorter than on most other bikes. The seat is super comfortable for a bike seat. Even after an hour and a half I only had the tiniest bit of saddle soreness despite not having ridden a bike in years. The rear/brake light is great. The front light is okay. it's definitely good enough for riding at night, but there are much better ones out there. I'll probably switch it out for an aftermarket that's bright, broader and more stable at some point. Be aware that while parts of this bike are water resistant, it's clear other parts, like the digital display/control, are not. The owners manual practically implies that if you look a glass of water while within a hundred of feet of the bicycle your warranty is void, so I don't think I'd want to ride this bike in the rain or through deep puddles. The tires and suspension are awesome. Going from pavement into dirt or gravel is pretty stable and light off-road handling is great. I suspect regular high levels of bumpiness will cause problems with the electronics and possible other parts coming loose (just like with any bicycle) but so far it handles occasional mildly-rugged terrain quite well. Did I mention this thing is a tank? I can absolutely pedal it in the lower gears without any power, but if I had to do, say 5 miles, that way I would probably end up just walking this beast before pedaling the full 5 miles. I was pleasantly surprised that I'm actually able to get in some low impact cardio with pedal assist turned on. It's a lot like riding a stationary exercycle on the lowest settings so you have almost no resistance at all. You're still pumping your legs (pretty rapidly at full speed, even in gear 7) and still get some low impact exercise in. Part of the kit I bought included saddle bags a cell phone mount a locking cable. I only wanted the saddle bags, which is a good thing. The saddle bags are fine (they're heavily branded with "Heybike" written on the sides in white which is a little annoying, but not too bad). The cell phone holder is cheap and I honestly don't think I'll trust my cell phone to it and the lock on the cable is insanely cheap. Seriously it wouldn't surprise me if a body builder could literally tear the lock open with their bare hands. It's that bad. And of course it's a 4 digit combination lock so anyone with a few hours of patience alone with the bike could open it. There's still the lock on the battery so that's probably not as bad a situation as it could be but I just tossed mine in the recycling. The saddle bags were worth it just the same.

Good bike but replacement parts are hard to get
It's a good bike overall but it fell over and the brake handle busted off quite easily and it's impossible to get it replaced because there's no inventory. Watch out for Hey Bike. They are difficult to work with if you have issues with their bikes. I contacted them and they did not respond to my email about the brake handle. Now I'll have to get a bike shop buy a mismatched one to get riding again.
