This Deuter Pico 5L backpack is perfect for a two-year-old.The size and fit are great. It’s not oversized like many backpacks marketed for young children and toddlers. It also adds a cuteness factor. Many people stop and tell us how adorable our daughter is when wearing it.The material is durable, and easy to clean. It holds up well in the rain, and dirt. It wipes clean, and shows almost no wear after 6 months of nearly daily use. We have taken everywhere from parks to camping, to daily trips around town.The zippers are YKK zippers. This was an important factor in our purchase as we wanted a product that we could trust to last.The main backpack space is adequate, and allows for nearly all common uses. Sometimes we use it as a diaper bag and it holds plenty of diapers, wipes, and even snacks/toys. The zippered opening may feel slightly restrictive for some larger items as it only zips open to the elastic side pockets, but it’s by no means a deal breaker.The elastic side pockets are a bit on the small side. They are not great for most water bottles and a very snug fit. For reference, they will fit a standard 12oz can.The back of the bag is padded and breathable, as are the straps. The straps also have a chest strap that will help ensure the backpack stays on your child. This was another big factor for us in our hunt for the perfect bag.It has a hanging loop to easily store it at school or home, and a label inside the bag to write your child’s name.The design illustrations are cute and friendly, and come in different colors. We didn’t want something branded, so this was perfect.Overall, the value and quality of this backpack is worth the cost of $30. It is built to last, has quality material and zippers, and is the perfect size for a two-year-old.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Perfect size for a 2year old. Holds a few diapers, wipes, extra clothing and a water bottle. My boy can use it independently and loves the cute design. Top quality, zippers work appropriately and threads a well made.

Perfect, kids bag.My children are quite young so we only go 1-3 miles for a hike. Great size for them to carry a jacket, all their snacks and up to 2 water bottles. They love the colors and fun patterns. My kiddos climb all the rocks and they seem to be durable against there rough play.

I got this for my two year old and he is obsessed. It looks adorable, is the perfect size, and made well! I usually pack a diaper & wipes in it when we go hiking. He likes to put a stuffed animal in it. I'm sure it will last a long time and be passed down to our other kids.

Otherwise this backpack is awesome. We just put her bottle inside the pack.

My 2 year old loves this. It's the right size for her, and it has survived daily use (water bottle spills and all) for the past half year. The quality is very good and durable, and it seems like it will last for years to come until our little one outgrows it.

My son loves this firetruck backpack. Its the perfect size. I got it right before my son turned 3 and it fit him very comfortably, now he just turned 4 and it fits him even better. The water bottle pockets fit his kids 12oz yeti perfectly.(as long as the inside isnt completely filled to capacity) He takes it everywhere and he STUFFS it with monster trucks and oversized lego-like blocks, to the point that its difficult to close the zipper and its never had a problem. He throws it around, drags it around the house, takes it on trips, stuffs snacks and blankets in it until its bulging, and still no signs of wear on the zipper and no frays at any of the seams after over a year of use. Plus theres a lifetime warranty on it! It'll be a sad day when he outgrows it.
