Throne of Glass Box Set (Paperback): Sarah J. Maas

This is a very long series that peaks between book 3 and 6.It is an absolutely must read if you like the genere. Maas is an incredible writer and this series is quite epic, it has a vague feel of Game of Thrones, and if you enjoyed that series, you will love this one.

I was very excited to get this set and read the books, but the package arrived damaged with one of the books torn

I’m actually so bummed out that I didn’t notice this earlier. I bought this back in June and I wanted to reread the series but could never get into it because of the first few chapters that didn’t even belong in the first book throne of glass.

Giiiiirrrllll if you haven’t read this yet, lord have mercy. You need to. This is like a female version of LOTR for me. I literally think about this series all the time and it’s been years. It would be the most epic tv show or movie set. So many characters, so much depth, so much banter and emotion…. Everyone has their own tragic backstory and somehow led them all together. Journeys across land and sea. Epic slow burns, realistic relationship ebb and flow. So much love, so many tears. This is an EPIC journey in its own but it has ties to an even more EPIC multiverse. The Easter eggs and plot holes are amazing!!!! SJM is a genius. The only singular thing I have beef with, is how you go on this long amazing epic emotional journey where you discover there are 2 main villains in the end, and their fate was so short handed to them…..thats my only beef. I’d re read this series til the cows come home but I needed so much more for the villains ending. I needed it to be more epic and make more sense. Not that it didn’t “make sense” per se, but it felt so much more rushed than a lot of the story you read. I mean It took so much depth and calculation to get all those characters together for the final boss battle and the fate of the 2 villains was so swift and almost glossed over for me. It broke my heart how quick the ending was after the most epic of journeys. This took me literal months to read and I was left wanting more. But like I said I will re read this series til the cows come home. This is such a rich world and you explore damn near every part of it with such detail. Rich, beautiful, epic world. The SJM universe is my favorite of all time.

This Throne of Glass paperback box set is a great way to own the full series in one purchase. The books arrived in good condition, the covers look nice together and the paperbacks are comfortable to read. It is an immersive fantasy story with strong characters, steady pacing and plenty of twists that keep you hooked through the series.

Ich liebe diese Serie! Ich gebe zu, der Start war für mich schwierig. Ich habe gelesen, das geht den meisten so. die ersten zwei Bücher sind aber wichtig, um die Geschichte aufzubauen. Und WAS für eine Geschichte das ist! Wow! Liebhaber von Spice sollten sich nicht zu große Hoffnungen machen, denn diese Szenen sind selten und meist nur angedeutet (zum Beispiel: "Show me everything" - and he did. Fertig. nächstes Kapitel) Wer aber eine unglaublich packende Story lesen will. zum Mitfiebern und Mithoffen, zum Lachen aber auch tatsächlich zum Weinen, der sollte wirklich zugreifen. Tipp: im Internet nach der Lesereihenfolge suchen, da es sich wirklich anbeitet, die vorletzten zwei Bücher im Tandem zu lesen - sowie sich die Frage zu stellen, wann Assassin's Blade gelesen werden soll.... Facebook ist voll von Diskussionen. Manche lesen es als erste Buch, manche als letztes, manche als viertes, ich empfehle es als drittes. Es handelt sich um die Vorgeschichte, und da nach Buch 2 eine natürliche Zäsur entsteht, finde ich es dort wirklich passend! Ich rate davon ab, es ganz auszulassen. Alles, was vorkommt wird irgendwann wieder aufgenommen. Alle Fäden finden ein gemeinsames Ende. Wichtig: bei diesem Artikel handelt es sich um die englische Version. Ich lese meine Bücher nur auf Englisch, daher kann ich zu deutschen Übersetzungen nichts sagen.
