Very nice. It did take 2 people to put together and took them about 3 hours. It's quite low but the storage is excellent. We have it in a small room and you should be aware that it has prominent corners so we have caught our shins on it a few times. Overall I'm pleased with it.

Awful
The noise this bed made creaking was terrible. Kept waking me up every time I turned over. The company refused to do anything- they did say to send photos to check we had put it together properly, we'd paid someone and checked it ourselves several times. Had to buy a replacement. DO NOT TOUCH!

Delightful home engineering project (also works as a bed)
With the decline of Great British engineering, it's important that home dwellers are faced with minor engineering challenges, and this Como Wooden Ottoman Storage Bed — in Oak or White — is a first rate challenge for those who have progressed beyond the run-of-mill cabinet with hinges challenge.*** Warning - spoilers ahead ***If you want to face the challenge in its purest form, stop reading now. If you want some tips, a bit like a video-game walk through, but for a bed, read on.The item arrives in three boxes. Check that they aren't damaged before the delivery people leave. As it happens, ours weren't damaged. In fact, the delivery people rather gave the impression that they had delivered things before and knew what they were doing. Better safe than sorry, though.Once arrived and transported to their final destination, carefully unbox the objects. Do not throw away the packaging — you will need it later.Instructions should have arrived with it. Check that everything in the instructions has been delivered. If you run out of 15mm M6 bolts, for example, you will find that these are unobtainable from B&Q or Amazon.Lay everything out. You are permitted to admire the engineering if you like. In our case, it was fairly obvious that the metal bits had been pre-loved by at least one other intrepid amateur engineer. Also, the centre strut had been stored somewhere damp and had rusted a little. We decided not to treat it, since the bedroom is dry, but we may revisit that. The instructions proceed reasonably until you reach the bit where it talks about Sticker F. This is your only clue that you have to attach separate rails which are not clearly pictured nor well described. Find the struts with Sticker F. If you don't, you will either drive the bolts right through the side of the bed (unsightly), or decide they are the wrong bolts, use some of the precious M6 15mm. bolts, and then have to go to B&Q to get some more. Also, it won't fit later. So, find Sticker F.It should become fairly clear fairly early on that the metal bits don't so much fit together as admit to being made to fit together. There is a certain variability in either the corner parts, or where the holes in the wood are. Ours bore all the marks of having been previously tried before being given up upon and returned. Don't worry, though, as it's all rescuable later. The tools are provided, except for a T-Square. You cannot correctly assemble this bed without checking the right angles. The corner of a big book will do at a pinch.Once you've put the corner brackets on, you will discover that the bed won't close without bending them. Do not worry at this point, and do not try to close the bed. Finish putting the brackets on, then attach the hydraulics (the advanced part of this project). At this point you'll find the bed won't close at all. Don't worry about that. Instead, complete the frame and attach the slats. You should now be in a position to push down with all your strength and get the the bed to close. With the Pistons installed, the end now clears the brackets, which it wouldn't do earlier. If you had been worried about this, and tried installing them upside down to give clearance, go back at this point and install them properly. There is a wonderful black cloth with Velcro edges to go underneath the bed. Contrary to the instructions, put this on after the slats, and do so carefully: it isn't strong. You will notice that it is too big for this size of bed. It's probably too small for the King size, which calls into question the decision to make it in an intermediate size.Your bed should now be ready. If you have any pieces left, go back to the instructions. Every piece is essential. Do not put the mattress on yet, but do remove the plastic from round the mattress: you will need this. You now need to paint your bed, if it came in white. The white is not really thickly painted on, and should be seen more as a piece of generous undercoating than an actual finish. You may think that it would have been better to paint before assembly, but this relies on you having a big enough area to do it, and being sure that you won't return the item. Seriously, no-one is going to accept a half-painted bed as a return. To paint, remove the black Velcro-fitted sheet and put the plastic sheeting from your mattress under everything. Then lay the big box that the headboard came in over the slats, which will conveniently allow you to sit or kneel while you paint: you will find it almost impossible to remove the slats once they are in, without breaking the holders.Allow to dry and recoat. Allow to really dry, and put the mattress on. The bed should now close fairly easily, depending on how heavy the mattress is. If it's too heavy, it won't open easily (once pulled up a few centimetres, it should open itself, rather than requiring tugging). If it's too flimsy, the bed won't close without a lot of pressure, though, mercifully, it will stay closed.*** Spoilers over ***There's nothing intrinsically difficult about building this bed, provided that you locate strut F, and check everything before you fit it. Some of the bits look a lot like each other. Once you have completed this project, you are ready to move onto motorised projects. Or you could just have a lie down and enjoy: it is a nice bed, with both sturdiness and elegance, and a good measure of storage space underneath.Job done.

Good bed but finishing not to the same standard
The bed itself is great. The instructions were not very clear and the paintwork is quite poor quality it could really have done with another coat.

Great bed but poor assembly instructions
Would recommend this bed for anyone needing a good storage solution however the assembly instructions are poor. A bit of common sense and patience is required to work it all out but persevere and you will get there!
