eKitch Herb Mill - Stylish hand mill for fresh herbs, garlic or chilli

Somehow I expected more of this herb chopper. It's not the most efficient I've come across - you need a fair amount of patience to defenestrate the grid. That said, none of the herb choppers on the market are much good, which is why I keep buying them in the hope of finding one that is.

Hi,I don't think this item is worth buying. I wanted to find a nice looking garlic and herb crusher/chopper for the kitchen and bought this as a stocking filler for Christmas. However, although it arrived promptly and looks good, it really does a terrible job. I don't think the blades actually fit properly at the bottom for some reason (although there is no other way of placing them if you want to screw on the bottom bit) which means it doesn't cut anything at all. It's not useless for fresh herbs, but forget trying to chop garlic or fresh chillies with it. With some force the best result I was able to obtain is a form of crushed garlic paste when the cloves are pushed through the blades. All in all, don't buy it not even worth the low price.

Works well with herbs. A described. Happy with my purchase.Further to other comments I wouldn't expect it to work with garlic or ginger, but with leafy herbs it does well.

Like another reviewer, I've found this does not work at all for garlic. I've had to use a knife to try and fish out the crushed garlic bits but it was such a mess, I gave up on it and did a fresh lot with a normal knife. Works fine on herbs and it does chop it quite finely. However, a large amount of herb is left in the base and requires fishing around with a knife to get it out.It says it's dish-washable, but I would not recommend it. After the second time I've used it and put into the dishwasher, the top part of the mill had completely filled with water through a small opening in the top, and it's impossible to get all the water out despite vigorous shaking. After that, it went straight in the bin after wasting far more time than it would have saved.2 stars because it works ok with herbs, but be prepared to lose a lot of it and have to hand wash the unit.

Product is fine but it was a gift to someone and the packaging was all bashed and scruffy looking. Not going to look the best when opened at Christmas which is a shame.

I bought this to help chop up chillies especially since the picture of the item shows chillies and it also says it's a "stylish hand mill for fresh herbs, garlic or chilli" so I thought rather naively that it would be fine, how wrong was I? It wouldn't work all. I didn't even put too much in, just trying half a chilli at a time and all I got was mush. And not even mush I could use. Went straight in the bin. Only reason I gave it one star is because there is no option for no stars! Save your money!

I agree with the reviews praising the way it grinds herbs - better than anything I've tried so far. I just wish it had a bigger capacity.
