I've been using these for Welding practice and metal work practice. They are really useful and they work perfectly.You don't need to spend big money on welding magnets. Magnets you can turn on and off definitely have their place, but so do cheaper, more numerous magnets such as this set of 4 - generally you will want four magnets to hold each corner of a frame you are fabricating. More magnets = better for bigger more complex fabrications.Try and keep them away from the heat of the arc though as heat can weaken their magnetism.

Fantastic aid for welding

Firstly they are accurate for 90° angles but very difficult to set any other angles. The magnets are sufficiently strong to hold light items in place but they are not for heavy items. You do have to watch out for swarf - they pick it up very efficiently and you spend ages cleaning it off :-)

I'm a Welder/Fabricator and these are perfect for me to hold my work pieces in position as I build stairs and handrailing.They are strong enough to hold in place flat,bar,tubes,all sorts of steel pieces,even small beams,so you can get a good tack on them to start fabrication.I highly recommend these,they have much better strength magnets than the others I have.I'm really happy with mine.Thanks !!!

Good for lining up and squaring in off but to hold something in place was very tricky. Used a set of clamps in the end but the price was good and helped me complete my project with a little extra ease. They are not in my welders box ready for the next projectWould recommended highly
