Yes, you can lay down flat. Ample room. Not sure what you mean by the second question. The seat depth with the cushion is comfortable.

Q: What is the cleaning instruction for these cushions? Do the covers zip off for washing??

The covers can be removed easily for washing. You can wash them in the washing machine with mild soap and cold water but do not put them in the dryer. It’s an awesome sofa.
