Good quality, dry bearing, worth it!
The tensioner is well made and fits exactly as it should. Everything is quality, but you get what you pay for. In this case the parts are made well, but pulley bearing had absolutely no grease inside and bolt holding it was finger tight with no thread lock applied. I pulled bearing seal and packed with grease and added a drop of loctite to bolt threads. Running great so far on Chevy Express 2500. No noise. Worth the 15 minutes of extra care for a quarter of the oem price.

The tensioner I got had a real METAL pulley! Old one was crappy PLASTIC that failed!
The tensioner I got had a real METAL pulley! The old tensioner, only a couple years old, had a crappy PLASTIC pulley that had broken apart and failed on a 3100 mile drive across the USA. The plastic disintegrated about 200 miles from our home in Florida, so we had to drive the last 3 hours with no AC. The old belt was fine, just hanging on the compressor or crank pulley. I put on the brand new belt and kept the old one as a spare. It was not bad to install the belt and new tensioner. I just put the Tahoe up on ramps in the front and had room to work. I did have to remove a couple under-body shields, and one of the tensioner bolts was awkward to break loose, but mostly only because I had an injured shoulder. Also, you have to remove the main S-Belt to install this AC belt behind it on the crankshaft pulley, and then reinstall that S-Belt to complete that repair. There is a TRQ instructional video for this repair that was excellent and helpful. I can use my Tahoe again!! Here in Florida it's just not feasible to drive a car unless it has working AC.
