Had high hopes for this bat box
I was so excited about this product. We have mosquitoes pretty bad in our area and read having bats around would reduce the amount of mosquitoes and I was super excited about that. The day it arrived we immediately hung it as directed on a tree in our yard. It was easy to hang and I excitedly waited for the bats to find their new home as save me from the blood sucking vampires. It looked to be made of light wood and I hoped it would withstand our mid Missouri weather. I noticed about a month later it was starting to lean forward but I didn’t want to disturb it in case it had actually attracted the well anticipated bats. About 6 weeks after hanging it I had to take it down because the back had came loose and was bowed . After further inspection I could see the back had broken in two and It’s now trash. My hopes of little flying insect eaters are shattered. We have a lot of squirrels in our yard and I’m wondering if their weight could have attributed to the breaking of the thin back piece . The wood was wet so I laid it on the counter and placed weight on top of it in hopes of straightening it but it still has a curve to it .

Poorly Made
Unfortunately, these are assembled with very small brads and no waterproof glue. I hung these per the instructions and they fell apart within nine months. Unfortunately, I bought four of them.

Attractive
This bat house is beautiful looking and it will look great anywhere you put it. It is constructed properly according to guidelines for bat houses. It was easy to mount as well.

This is beautifully made!
It's great quality and well made. I don't have any bats yet but that's not their fault. I think it's worth a try.

Buy wood glue and clamps too.
I bought 2. Mounted them on poles as directed. After 2 weeks the side panels started splitting from back panels. I had to take them down. Glue and Clamp them back together. If it had just been one? I would’ve chalked it up to chance. But both at same time?!!

Natural Mosquito Repellent
The media could not be loaded. Can't wait to hang this up and get some help killing the mosquitoes in FL. The Bat house is very sturdy and should hold up for years to come.

so far so good. installation method was as eacy as I could imagine
I mounted this high on my garage, about 16' up. I'm hoping it receives enough warmth from the morning sun to attract some bats next fall. If not I may have to move it to a pole but I am afraid it will get too hot for them if exposed to the full sun of South Texas. Keep in mind when attracting bats, they like to have a water source nearby (within 1500 feet or so I am told). So having a native stream or pond, or a bird bath that stays full will help attract these bug eaters. It's too soon to tell how well it is received by the bats, but the installation and build quality I can speak to.The unit was solidly built with the main cavity divided into two chambers. There looked to be plenty of grip surface for the bats to latch onto once they climb in.Installation was easy. drive one screw most of the way in, much like hanging a picture. hang the bat house on this then secure it by driving two more screws through the provided holes near the bottom. It feels very securely attached.

Fell apart
Installed it as recommended and it fell apart in about 2 months in upper Michigan. Literally fell to pieces, leaving only the back screwed to the pole.
