Paying for the brand? Probably but worth it
Overall this light is a 10/10 if you want to know if you should get it or not the answer is yes. If you want to know more about why keep reading. The construction on this panel is very nice with a solid aluminum case and mount. I primarily use this for shooting cars at night and some portraits and the brightness is the perfect level. Having quick access to warmth and brightness on the back panel is super convenient. The app also offers great control for scenes and color on the light. Plus having it as a battery bank is huge as it can save you on a shoot if all your batteries die. There was really only one con if you want to call it that to this product. That would be the mount for the camera hot shoe. The mount is okay but when you screw it into the lume cube the panel can still turn a little to easily in my opinion even when you fully tighten the collar.Do other portable panel lights do it just as good? MaybeIs this one overpriced for the name? Maybe a littleWould I buy this tomorrow if mine was stolen? Absolutely

Great portable light for photography.
Wonderful, convenient light for augmenting a scene in photography or in some video scenarios. Being able to change the color to match the surrounding color is great. However, the lighting values given on the LCD panel were not correct. I used a color meter to match the colors.

Seems like really high quality light
I had the Lume Cube Go before and it was okay, but I was hoping to get a little more light output from this one. Plus, the phone app control seemed like it would be nice. When I got this Lume Cube I was really surprised how much nicer it was. The build quality of this unit appears to be quite a bit better than that of the Go. The illumination is great (1500 lumens rather than 1000), lots more control of color and saturation and a wider range of white temperature. Also, the app is really nice and seems to control the light with no lag. Even the camera mount was much more solid feeling and easier to tighten down on the camera shoe. The diffuser cover also seems to be much nicer than the Go. Diffusing the light but not cutting too much brightness. Upon first use, it seems to light the whole scene evenly at 28mm on a full-frame camera. I think I'm really going to like this light. I hope it holds up.

Very flexible use for this panel light
The ability to turn the light on or off, adjust the brightness, change the color temp., etc. make this a versatile light. Works particularly well for macro photography. Expensive but highly recommended.

Love it!
I'm not big on flash. I personally can't stand how harsh flash can look and for me personally, bringing a whole flash set on location in area's that aren't exactly the best but have the best graffiti isn't ideal. This little video light is great! No it doesn't have the power true flash can have, but for me, it's a great alternative.I also volunteer at a local animal shelter. Having worked with dogs from so many different situations, I find a lot of them do NOT like flash. So this light comes in handy. To preserve the battery I turn it off when I'm not using it and so far, even at 100% it's lasted my usual "shift" which is about 3 hours. The light has an app with it as well. You can change the light to almost any color which makes for really cool effects. For such a small light you can so so much with it! I highly recommend!
