Harry the Dirty Dog (Harry the Dog)

This was ordered for my granddaughter’s 4th birthday present. She wasn’t too excited until we sat down and I read it to her. She loved the simple illustrations and the storyline. We ended up reading it three times that day!

Great children’s book love it

When my little ones learned the word 'dirty', this book was so cute and fun for them!

The story is easy to follow and the illustrations are sweet. I introduced Harry books to my granddaughters and they love them.

Such a cute book I remember reading it as a child and now enjoy reading it to my kids. One of my favorite picture books especially if your kid likes dogs.

My son was so excited about this little dog getting dirty and then getting a bath. It is a sweet little book. We have two dogs who hate baths. One of those is a little white dog with stops. I think it would be good book for kids learning to read as well.I guess it is a children's classic, but I have never heard of it before.Edit years later- kid is 5 1/2 and still likes this book. We have a small white dog with brown spots who sometimes turns into a yellow dog with more brown spots. So maybe because of that. But one of the few books he liked at 2 and likes at 5. It has become one of my favorite young children’s books.

This is a book that will grow along with my son. Some of the story line is difficult to understand, but my son gets the basic concept. Right now, he loves to point out all of the different elements on each page: a train! a car! a boy! As he ages, the book will begin to take on more meaning.The book is about a dog who does not want to take a bath, so instead he runs out the door and finds mischief while playing around in town. He starts to get hungry and lonely and finds his way back home, but the family doesn't recognize him because he's so dirty. He used to be a white dog with black spots, but now he's a black dog with white spots.This is a classic children's book and one that I'm so glad we have in our home library. It's really a must. The size is just right and the book is quite sturdy for the adventurous toddler grip.We even found the companion DVD and I'm amazed at how the animation only enhances the story, not over powers it. I loved this story as a young child and knew it off by heart.I bought for my great nephew who I thought would also enjoy all the naughty and funny things the little dog Harry did .

Daughter wanted because they were reading this book in her class. Great Book.
