Simple Setup, BRIGHT Light, Fully Adjustable
Really love this light because it is a great value and has everything I was seeking in a light. However, depending how you place this light, the control unit may be too close to the water. This was unexpected, because the overall power cord is over 6 feet long. In my case, I have provided a photo showing that with the light mounted to the top of my aquarium canopy, the control unit just barely extends out of the back of my canopy/back of my aquarium. In my case, I think this is just far away from my saltwater to prevent salt creep from forming on the controller. Also, if you use an aquarium canopy designed like mine, then the included brackets to suspend above aquarium will not work. My prior light was already attached to my canopy top, so we tied this light with coated wire to my canopy top's prior light's connectors (eye screws - not anything fancy). Setting the time was pretty straightforward, and the directions warn if you take too long on any particular field it will timeout. I did have that timeout happen to me during initial setup, but it wasn't a big deal to start over that part. I love that my fish only with live rock (FOWLR) saltwater aquarium turns on and off on its own without paying an arm and a leg for traditional saltwater aquarium lighting. When the light is on, at 100% blue and 100% white lights were too strong, too bright for my foxface and copperband butterfly fish hid. I tried bringing the light down to 75% but when I got all the way down to 50% then my copperband butterfly fish came out from hiding. I've also enclosed a photo of my saltwater aquarium. On the clip is some macroalgae for my foxface fish to eat, and having this good lighting designed for plants will help that to grow until my foxface eats it. This is a red gracilaria macroalgae which might be a little tough for my small foxface, but it looks nice and will absorb phosphates and nitrates from the water, should it grow out on the clip. The gracilaria is similar in texture to dragons tongue, but it is supposed to grow faster. I may move my clip further up to the light, esp since my fish hid until I brought the lighting down to just 50% intensity. I don't have space in my under-tank refugium for a planted area, so my clip is my only planted solution (for now). As long as salt creep doesn't form on the control unit, I expect this to last a long time as it is well made. Even if this light doesn't and needs replaced sooner, this light cost just 5% of what I just paid for a replacement light for my other bigger tank, a mixed reef aquarium using AI Hydro 64s... 5% is not a typo - this light from Amazon a GREAT value!! I have been using it a month now and I LOVE IT!! In case Amazon mixes my aquarium light with other similar products, this is my products description: NICREW C10 Plants LED Aquarium Light, 30-36 in, 20Watts, Full Spectrum Fish Tank Light with Timer, Day and Night Cycle, Brightness Adjustable I hope my review helps others

Worth it for the built in lighting controller.
Nice lighting control features built in, easy to setup, nice and bright. I modified my hood to utilize this light, looks great.

Bright, well made, good value!
This light is a game changer for hobbyists. It is heavy, well made, and very durable. I like the design of the case and the adjustable mounting arms. This was easy to install, and set up the light timers. The light is very bright, and even TOO bright for smaller tanks. I run might at 50%, and is still brighter than the hood light I had previously. It was cheaper than the lids, and outperforms them in every way.

WOW!! FANTASTIC!!
SUPER BRIGHT!!! I have the C10 48-60" model on a 50 gallon tank.. and WOW! It is blazing bright! Too much in fact, I don't want to blind my fish. The master dimmer (in manual mode) turns all colors down equally, and you can manually switch from day to night if you like. In program mode (daytime).. I found the mix that works for my tank is about 25% white, and 60% blue (red is dimmed with white). First thing I noticed (switching from old 5000K LED tube) is COLOR are better balanced... VIBRANT and ALIVE!! Old light looks yellow and dull in comparison. The pattern is perfect as well, light is evenly spread everywhere. The programming is actually very simple! Hold "settings" button (till flashes).. then toggle thru and set all the settings. When done, hold "settings" button again to SAVE. Real simple! You set the time, sunrise & sunset, moonlight, and time off. Additionally you set the intensity (dimmer) for balance of colors. It's nice because you see it in real time (how it's going to look as you make changes) and DONE. The red is adjusted with the white, but not an issue (plenty of color).. blue is separate. Same ability to mix for "moonlight".. but most will likely just want deep blue. Finally, it turns off completely at time you set as well. It also ramps up and down in 15 minutes which is way more than sufficient. The controller is easy to see, easy to set, easy to use! Note: I had an issue with saving my "sunset" setting, until I found it "overlapped" the shutdown time setting. Once corrected, it programs without issue. Or just use the DEFAULT setting which times are good, just too bright. The nice thing about taming this thing down (to less than full output) is LED's will probably last a long time. I really can't see ever using this at full output. I've read others comment on preferring a controller with full display vs remote control, which I agree with. You can see at a glance all your time settings and dimmer settings.. no guessing. Not only that, but once you set the timing controls, you no longer need to mess with it.. just enjoy! I'm very thrilled with this light and highly recommend it. (my photo is with white 30% and blue 60%)

Functional Light For Plants
I bought this aquarium light for my freshwater tank. It's pretty simple to use, just plug it in and you're good to go. I like that it has a timer function so i can set up a day/night cycle (my roommate once left his fish under a normal lightbulb for 3 days straight). The brightness is adjustable too, which is nice because sometimes the white LEDs are a bit intense. Overall, it works as advertised and my plants seem to be growing well. The only downside is that i didn't realize there wasn't a full range of colors like some other lights have. It's mostly just blue and white modes (though they do mix together to make purple). But if you're just looking for something functional, this light does the job. I've had it for about 2 months now and haven't had any issues with overheating or anything else. For the price, i think it's a solid choice.

Very nice, love all but the directions!
These worked pretty well for my aquariums, with the exception of programing the timer. I tried for a few days and they were not coming on and off at the same time. I have my adult son come and set it up for me and still not a success. They would come on in the mornings, but then what I really wanted was light at medium during the day, then dimmed for an hour, then blue for a couple hours. Unsure how to set that up, and one light kept just going off and no blue. I gave up. Now I get up and use it manually and they’re fine, but I’d sure love some directions other than the one I found online and the unclear booklet that came with the lights! With that said, I love them. Super lightweight and not clumsy when I’m taking the lid off my tanks. The cords are sufficiently long and the controls about a foot from the lights which works for me, rather than a foot from the outlet which had me getting down close to the wall outlet to turn on and off on another set of lights. The blue is great, but wish it was just a little brighter, but okay. I have a white beta however, and the white lights have 3 red lights in the strip. Just those 3 red lights turned my white beta red! That red would bring out a lot of pretty oranges and reds in another fish, but I love my white. So I put a strip of electrical tape over the plastic that covers the strip, not directly on the light, and it’s a lot better. Now, if only I could get the auto settings right!

You Light Up...My (water) Life
For years, I put off buying a "fancy" aquarium light because they were too expensive and I was too cheap! But I started researching earlier this year and found that the Nicrew C10 was competitively priced and had good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I am very happy that I did, this light has been great. My plant growth has been phenomenal, so much so that I have had to reduce the time of how long I leave on the light. It has variable brightness settings and timer, so you can adjust the brightness or the duration of run time. Seems pretty durable, I've had it for a couple months now. Of course, you need to clean it if you don't have a cover (the company suggests using a lid), but it looks great. The controller is really easy to understand once you get the hang of it, easy to read, and tucks away nicely.

Good replacement light
This is perfect for our odd-sized aquarium. We replaced the tube fluorescent light that burned out quickly with this light. It brightens the tank very nicely. I love the “evening” setting that dims for however long we want. The timer seems to work very well. Happy with this purchase.
