we bought it for my son in law in Africa with the Haynes manual and he said this manual was also very well detailed

Much more bearable to read than Haynes, though not as comprehensive when dealing with non-mechanical matters (ie, servicing window motors).A good companion, especially if off on an exped.Buy both and you'll be ok.

Good for doing any repair but I had hoped it, like the Haynes repair books, would have covered each model more in detail explaining different vehicle parts. Now it covers so many different LC models that each model has only a tiny part of the book.

Very pleased with the manual gives me all the imformation i need for my vehicle.

You can probably see from the book image that this book actually covers years from 1990 to 2007. However we wanted it as a repair manual for a 2002 Toyota Landcruiser Colorado (Automatic). Unfortunately this model is NOT covered in the book so from our point of view this book was a waste of money. If anyone has information on where we could obtain a manual to cover this model we would be grateful.

If you've got an HZJ or HDJ this manual is for you. Photos instead of diagrams and tons of know-how knowledge.

Mir fehlen nur wenige Vokabeln, um das englsich komplett zu verstehen, aber in der eigenen Muttersprache (Deutsch) wäre besser.Ich habe es noch nicht gebraucht, da so ein LandCriuser ja auch selten kaputt geht (im Gegesatz zu einem .AND .OVER ;-).Ich nehme es aber auch auf reisen mit. Da ist dann die englische Variante ggf auch von Vorteil.Scheint soweit komplett zu sein, kann wohl ein echtes Werkstatthandbuch erstzen, welches viel teurer und dicker ist.Im Netz findet man ja auch noch die original Reperaturanleitung für den Motor als PDF, zumindest von meinem HDJ 100. Damit sollte man dann dan gut rumkommen. Um den Erdball ;-)

Bis jetzt habe ich noch nicht viel aus dem Buch machen müssen. Man brauch etwas Zeit um sich rein zu lesen und auch um die gewünschte Information zu finden. Für den Preis ist es im Vergleich zu den Werkstatthandbüchern durchaus vertretbar!!

I bought this to assist meyself in getting to know better my 78, as well as a non-electronic support. Pity Haynes does not cover my vehicle.The manual is very informative in general terms, quite a lot of photos and covers most of the vehicles' illustrated in the cover parts.However, there is too much information 'crammed' in a single package and it tends to become complicated to follow.First sections (like engine and auxiliary systems, gearbox) are very technical and descriptive, as the manual moves on the rest becomes complicated, language is "poor" and of less use. Electrical drawings are nearly impossible to understand.Also, although it claims it holds data for all 70s, 80s and 100s Cruisers, only the 80s are really covered in maximum detail throughout. For the 70s you get a lot of data for engine and gearbox/clutch, so-so for drivetrain, and almost nothing useful for bodywork/interior (luckily this is quite straighforward).So at the end, if you got an 80/81, buy it! If you got a 100 or a 70s, you might want to save your cash unless you want an "on the road" portable non-electronic manual.Me, I think I will look for a Toyota EPC and try to print the not-really covered sections ... :-(

This book is one of the better books that I have read as far as instruction on repairs of this landcruiser.
