Reliable and no issues
Crucial is a well known brand and I’ve never had any issues with their memory products. This one has been reliable storing and transferring 4K videos and gets expected speeds. Nice and compact size and generally very good for the price.

Small, light, fast and sturdy. A great pocket sized SSD for work on the go.
Generally a good product that meets specifications and expectations.I purchased 2 x 4TB drives and 1 failed before I could use it: the drive appeared on my laptop but could not be accessed.Crucial replaced the SSD drive at no cost, although the process took 2 months. The other drive works great and I use it for high bandwidth data acquisition while imaging the sun.I could not ask for better: slim, light, fast, sturdy.A great product.

Practical, small and light
I was impressed by its small size, light weight and non-slip material on the back which makes it perfect for travel without taking up too much space. I use it for backups, it's quite handy with a fast read/write speed, it doesn't get hot and is easy to use. Solidly built it has holes to fit a cord so you don't lose it due to its small size. Highly recommended!

Very small - very good.
I really like this...very very small. And, much faster than my old spinning drive.

Great Product, a few negatives though
First of all, what I like about this SSD:- The size is great. It's super small and easily fits in my pockets. It can even fit into my wallet if needed.- The terabyte of space is more than enough for me. It's pretty easy to make folders and organize my files. From pictures and videos.- There aren't any slowdowns or choppyness. All the videos and images I put on uploaded almost instantly and kept the original definition.- The SSD seems very well constructed. I'm always leaning on the side of caution so it would be rare that it would ever be in a position where it could be damaged in the first place, but the metal build is very nice.A few negatives about the SSD include:- There is no password protection like advertised. I'm also not sure if it includes the encryption.- The program does not interface well with my on device gallery. To open files I have to use a file manager and select images one by one. Definitely something to keep in mind if you are using this as a gallery backup for something like photography.- The included cable is nice, but it is somewhat of a hassle to use everytime I want to use the SSD. I wish there was an included case to hold everything together to things have no chance of getting lost.I still think that this is a great SSD and will continue to use it. There are just somethings that aren't said in the advertising that should be taken into consideration before buying it

I thought they sent me the wrong one...
Ive had these Samsung Rugged SSDs for a while now, and am very happy with how compact and fast they are (for my needs), then this came along, for nothing money, and its quarter the physical size of them.I need to read from this drive more than write to it, so its transfer speeds are less of a concern than on other drives I have.Amazeballz get it!

Stopped working after one backup of my iMac.
This is supposed to be a plug & play for iMac operating systems. The first time I connected it is showed up and I was able to use it to backup my computer, one time. It showed up in Finder at that time, but now the iMac cannot even find the external drive. I've gone through all the procedures recommended by Crucial to no avail. There is something wrong with the drive. I've had two back medical procedures and a bad case of Covid 19 since I received the drive Nov. 26, 2024. It took me until the end of January to get back enough energy to do anything. So I missed Amazon's return date of January 31. I really thought it was okay after doing the first backup, but when I've tried to do another backup, the drive is not recognized. I'm extremely frustrated with Amazon Prime and Crucial. I read some of negative reviews and it seems others have had similar problems. The drive is still under manufacturers warranty, so I'm hopeful they will replace the drive with a working item. I haven't contacted them yet, but I will tomorrow. I have spent the afternoon trying to get it to work. I hope they will stand by their product. I love both the size and capacity of the exterior drive. If it just would work. I cannot recommend it now, but hopefully I'll get a positive response from Crucial and will be able to give an update on Prime and raise their rating. We will see.

Wow, and wow again
If I could give this little device 6 stars, I would. It floored me. The download speeds are blazingly fast. I have no way to measure them, but comparing it to a Samsung T7 and the SanDisk Extreme, although all advertised at at 1000 Mb/sec, this little thing downloads an order of magnitude faster.I am using a MacBook Pro and this is the specially Mac formatted Crucial SSD version. The SanDisk was unreliable, would mount sometimes, not other times, and was of the slowest speeds. The Samsung is very reliable, slightly faster than SanDisk, but still of much slower speeds than this device. This device is far smaller than either, although all had the same 2 Tb capacity. This device has a footprint smaller than a credit card in both height and width (obviously not thickness). You could easily slide this into your pocket and not even feel it - smaller and less bulky than a car key.The front appears to be aluminum, the back rubberized so it stays put. This is an important feature given its small size and weight to not accidentally lose it.It comes with an indicator light - hard to see on the product images but hidden inside the lanyard mounting hole. This may sound silly but is important to me. Samsung has one, the SanDisk Extreme has not. That being the device that would not mount reliably, you never know what is going on without an indicator, I.e. is it still trying to mount or is it dead?No issue here with the Crucial device. All devices are advertised to be shock, dust and moisture resistant. Obviously I am not about to test either.Overall the Crucial X9 is the best SSD I have seen, especially for Macs, although they offer a generic not Mac specifically formatted version as well.Highly recommended. Well done!
