Ugh, those extra coffee grinds in that little hole always annoyed me. Perfect item

Though the copy states these fit the Barista Express, I found the fit to be troublesome. As seen in my photo, two creases are obvious where the seal sits over the wire bail of the inner burr. Naturally, these made seating and securing the hopper quite difficult. Needless to say, once the hopper was finally secured it is impossible to tell if the seal was where it was supposed to be or if it was doing what it was intended to do. I believe these seals are a good idea poorly executed.

The media could not be loaded. 6 wk update on Oct 1, 2023:These seals are performing their job beautifully and I barely see any coffee leftover in the grinder when I inspected it after over a month of daily use. Usually I'd have to bring the vacuum cleaner out with the tiny attachments to get coarse and fine build-up of coffee grounds accumulated over time. See addl photo uploaded today.Original review on Aug 15, 2023:This is one of those products that you don't realize you need until you use it. I had installed a 'bellows' setup atop the grinder on my Breville Barista Express, which helps push all the ground coffee out into the portafilter in an effort to get to single dose/zero retention grinding. There would always be a gram or 2 that gets caught in the nooks and crannies around the outer burr, requiring a cleaning every week or so with a brush and vacuum to ensure freshness out of the grinder. Also meant, 18g in yielded 17.7g out from the grinder. So if I wanted 18g out of the grinder, I usually would add 18.3 or so to make up for this.This product covers up those nooks and crannies ensuring a flat surface that keeps the beans moving towards the burr - genius.Installation took all of 5 minutes, mainly to brush/vacuum out old coffee once I had the outer burr out.It offers a perfect seal, and after a week of using it, I took the hopper out to inspect and no bean pieces/fragments to be found in the usual areas whatsoever! It makes the job of the bellows even more effective in pushing everything towards the grinder.Now 18g beans in = 18g beans out. Zero retention achieved.

One of the biggest upsides of the Breville machine is the convenience of a built in grinder. But the beans get stuck every now and then, especially when it’s running low and the beans can no longer be evenly distributed. This simple little gasket hinders those pesky little bean shreds from getting stuck in the burr. It also allows for a much easier cleaning process. No more brushing, vacuuming, and blowing into the machine only for debris to come flying back in my face.I did actually struggle a little to install it on my Breville touch, since I was expecting it to have a tight, vacuum-like seal. But you just push it into the crevices. It’s been two weeks, and it’s working very well. It comes with two gaskets for some reason (I’d rather have one for half the price), so I gave the second one to my dad since he loves changing out coffees and has to let the level get low to do so.Not sure why Breville didn’t already have something similar already installed, considering how popular these machines are and how simple of a fix it is. It’s definitely worth a try, and it’s a great price to keep your expensive machine working flawlessly.

After over 2 years of almost daily use, I’ve tried many accessories for my Breville Barista Touch. Every time I have to clean out the grinder, it feels like a lot more work than expected. This little gasket for the coffee grinder burr is that little thing I’m wondering why Breville didn’t just produce their machine with!Not only does this prevent beans getting jammed into the rim of grinder and basket, it just keeps it clean. Less mess to clean. Easy install, just place when hopper removed to clean the burr housing. It wa a little bit of struggle, and not exactly the perfect fit. But it’ll do for now.Priced $15 at time of order and review, does come with 2. Once in a while someone comes up with a way to improve Breville's already excellent coffee grinders.These gaskets prevent bits of coffee bean from getting in the space around the Breville grinder's upper burr.The gaskets fit perfectly in a Breville Smart Grinder Pro, as well as the built-in grinder of the Breville Barista Touch espresso machine.To install, I unlocked and took off the hopper on both machines, then cleaned the bits of coffee beans with a brush and sucked up the bits with a vacuum cleaner hose held a fraction of an inch away from the burr.The vacuum cleaner was especially handy for the espresso machine, as it wasn't easy to tip the machine over to let the beans fall out.It wasn't mentioned in the instructions nor in the Amazon product page, but the gaskets install flat side up, lining up the notch on the gasket with the v-shaped portion of the upper burr's wire handle.When reinstalling the hoppers, it felt that the hoppers were slightly more snug than usual but the gasket did not interfere with the hopper's fit or its operation.

Keeping in mind that this product is designed to fit a wire range of machines, the fit is decent on a Barista Express. These do a good job of keeping beans from getting stuck above the upper burr of the grinder. I do wish the fit was a bit more snug to seal even better, but we'd need machine specific seals for that.

All I can say is it keeps the area free of grinds and appears to work pretty well. Nice precision cut seal
