Good Innovation!
One word; FANTASTIC. Where have you been the past 21/2 decades? I hate the sight of blood, with these pads I don’t have to see anything yucky. it’s also very soft.

Good addition to arsenal of period products
- Comfort: These pads are so soft and comfortable, I literally forgot I had them on! The feeling is similar to using period underwear, except with period underwear after a while I can feel that they're wet and it's very uncomfortable. These pads, on the other hand, absorb and wick moisture really well, so I never felt "wet" or uncomfortable.- Smell: They are not fragranced, however they do have a slight smell - I think it's smell of the charcoal - which is not at all unpleasant and only you will notice it, no one else. The charcoal seems to neutralize the other odors, as it is the only thing I smelled throughout my period.- Color: They are, of course, black. This is both good and bad. Personally, I liked not having to see my own blood every time I used the bathroom. But it also makes it difficult to keep an eye on your flow and know when to change pads.- Price: These are "premium" pads, and they come at a premium price.Bottom line: My experience using these was very good. They felt good and made for a better overall period. My periods are light, so I did not use the whole box. I would not use them all the time, every time, but will add them to my arsenal of period products. Sometimes I just don't feel like using a cup or period underwear, but I can't stand the bulk and plasticy-feel of most pads. These will fit in nicely.

Luxury maxi pads. Who knew?!
I never knew luxury maxi pads existed until I tried these. If they weren't nearly $1 each (currently priced at $7.50 for 8), I'd make the switch. I normally use Stayfree because I can't stand the plastic-like layer on Always pads. These bamboo charcoal pads are about the same size as the Stayfree Ultra Thin Regular Pads, but they are like 10 steps up. Upon opening the package, you can immediately tell that the pad is SUPER soft. The part that touches your skin must be the bamboo part. It's like a baby blanket. And the edges are not harsh or irritating. They are somehow soft as well. They don't stick to me. The adhesive is adequate - strong enough to keep it in place, but not so strong as to be annoying to remove from my underwear. They don't smell at all and absorb well. The only drawback to these pads (besides the price) is the fact that they are black. Like totally obscuring black. So if you're trying to gauge your flow, color, etc., it'd be really hard to do with these pads. You can't really see anything. Maybe that's a good thing for some, or maybe it just takes some getting used to, but it's odd to me. Obviously, it goes along with the charcoal theme.

Good Quality, but Expensive
These pads are very soft, stay securely where placed, and have good absorbency. The pad does not leave any glue residue behind on underwear. I have never had black pads before, and it takes some getting used to. The bamboo material has an interesting earthy smell when wet. This box only contains 8 pads, which makes them the most expensive sanitary pads I have ever used. These Atinette pads are nice, but I’ll be going back to my favorite organic cotton ultra thins when these are gone.

Super soft and silky pads
Wow these pads are incredibly soft and silky to the touch. They are very flexible, mold to the body, are super thin, and the adhesive is strong to keep the pad in place. Basically - all the things a good pad should be. The black color is the first I’ve seen for pads but being that they’re dye free - I assume the color is exclusively because of the charcoal fibers. Charcoal is a great natural antimicrobial and will likely neutralize odor as well. Also, these are free of chemicals, fragrances etc which are often found in typical brands. However, there’s one big issue, which I came back to edit to review to address: the color of these pads make it virtually impossible to know when you need to change them. If you change your pads at a regular schedule regardless, then I suppose that won’t bother you. But if you normally check your pads before changing them, this could be an issue because you really can’t tell when they need to be changed.

They work well
These pads are pretty neat, but honestly aren't really something I would call a necessity as far as sanitary pads go; they're extremely comparable to most other good quality pads of this size and thickness as far as functionality. I have a low to moderate flow, and I had absolutely no issues with the pads feeling too full or scratchy/uncomfortable; they're pretty imperceptible when wearing. The adhesive kept them in place well both during the day and overnight, which is actually a huge positive for me. The one difference I could discern between these and other pads is that, while they are fragrance-free, once they come in contact with fluid, they give off a distinctly earthy, woody scent; definitely not bad, but quite different. They're just decent pads, with the added bonus of looking pretty cool. They're completely black, even down to the outer wrapping and the tape that keeps it shut. I suppose if you're a goth who prefers pads, these are a must-buy.
