Moon New York State: Getaway Ideas, Road Trips, Local Spots (Moon U.S. Travel Guide) Review: New York: The rest of the State... - New York City has a tendency to consume all the oxygen, the dollars, and the tourists in the state. And that is unfortunate. New York State has much more to offer the visitor than the five boroughs that make up the state's major urban area. This new Moon guide has the story about the rest of New York. Featured topics include Long Island, the Hudson River Valley and Catskills, the Albany-Saratoga area, the Adirondacks, the Finger Lakes, and Buffalo and the Niagara region. Each chapter provides interesting information on where to go, what to see, and where to stay and to eat. The chapters include some fascinating out of the way places. The text includes a nice selection of photographs and a really useful set of small maps and diagrams. Well recommended when you are in a New York state of mind. Review: Good details on restaurants, festivals and natural areas. - We were interested in Niagara Falls area and Finger Lakes. Good info on both. After reading this book we may see more of upstate New York.

A Comprehensive NYC Guidebook!
This guidebook was incredibly useful for planning day trips in the Hudson Valley. It offers detailed suggestions for charming towns, scenic hikes, and local eateries. I even discovered hidden spots I’d never heard of before. It's a must-have for adventurers and weekend wanderers!

Fantastic guide for tourists and locals
Fantastic introduction to the marvels of New York State! I have been looking for a guide focusing on New York State, where my husband is from, and finally found the one! It’s super informative, very clear and well written - love that the author provides historical facts and context in particular. I always bring the book with me when we visit my in-laws and love discovering the area with this guide! Great guide!

Smart and thoughtful guide to New York State ( includes NYC)
This is a superior guide to New York. I am a native New Yorker who has lived in each of the five boroughs as well as spent quality time in Westchester and upstate. The author organized this book in a clear and consistent style that is super consumer friendly. Her inclusion of the variable levels of activity-related places to explore is so special for individuals who are seniors and/or experience physical limitations. The photos and maps added to the descriptions and to my excitement to travel! Go New York!!!
