Size:1 Piece, 40 inch Rarest of all cholla! Teddy Bear cholla wood that is extra hollow. Outside diameters range from 2 - 3.5". Inside diameter at least 1.25". Each piece is unique! Listing is for one piece of wood (select lengths have multiple quantity variations.) Buyer selects length from 3 to 48 inches. This cholla was collected in a natural (no chemicals used in the area, etc) area. We power wash these in 220 - 260 F water to get off dirt and debris and help release tannins--NO chemicals are used, ONLY water. No thorns!! Cholla is great for a variety of things--reptiles, hermit crabs, chinchillas, rabbits, aquariums, pleco, shrimp, birds, crafts, air plants...the list goes on! Just know that when you buy from me--I would never send you anything that I would not personally use in my own hermit crab setup that houses over 70 (yes, 70!) crabs. **Since cholla comes from the great outdoors, each piece will be unique--so various coloring, knots, curves, etc. should be expected.** To prepare the wood before placing in an aquarium or pet habitat, boil it or soak it in hot water to remove any native soils that may be present, reduce excess tannins and to make the wood sink. This process may take an hour or it may take several weeks--it all just depends on the wood. *This is done at your own risk--this may ruin the wood!* For proper husbandry information for hermit crabs, please visit Land Hermit Crab Owners Society on Facebook!

Making water brown :(
While the log looks cool and should be a great addition to our tank, we have been soaking it for over 2 weeks now and it still is making the soaking water brown. We can not add it to our tank until the water is clear and we have been changing the water daily (more in the beginning) while it soaks as per the suggestions. While it is better than when we first started soaking the log, we don't want to add it in to the aquarium now since it won't stop changing the water to brown as we do not want a brown tank. Unusable at this point, will update review if it ever is usable. PS...once it was soaked thoroughly the log ends are shedding off a bit into tiny pieces where it was sawed and are now floating in the water too. Make sure to do premaintenance before adding to your aquarium

This thing is awesome. Don't waste your money elsewhere.

My female betta fish love it! shipped quickly. Excited about the tannins it will add to the water. The fish are having fun swimming through the holes. Will order from this company again.

Disappointed
Came broken, very very sad. I had high hopes for this purchase.

Awesome produce!
Came very fast!! I love that it's untreated & that you can just get it at your doorstep & then boil it for an aquarium. Very efficient, will definitely be buying all my driftwood from you! I will recommend to anyone in the market for online aquarium driftwood. Keep it up!!!

My favorite cholla! Not just for my bettas
I bought suction cups with tiny zip ties to attach the cholla to the upper part of my bettas’ tanks to make a “floating” log, and they both hang out and swim through it all day long. I also recently purchased some Cory cats who have taken it over in my community tank, as well, and I keep one in my with my shrimp. This is the best cholla wood I have purchased.

Larger than expected--which I consider a positive!
I expected to receive extremely narrow branches (~1" in diameter) as I had received elsewhere. Nope! These big boys are ~2.5" in diameter--far bigger than I expected. It may not be *quite* as protective for my shrimp, what with the big holes on each end, but I think this is something I can work into my aquarium easily. I did boil them before adding to any tanks, to kill anything (just in case, you can't be too safe) and to boil out the tannins, as I don't want these to mess with my tank's pH. They didn't require nearly as much boiling as I expected either, getting to 90% clean (good enough for me!) with just two boils, so these have just been all-around nice pieces to work with. I hope my shrimp are as pleased with them as I am!

Good driftwood
Bought 3'' log for my 20g community tank with glofish and catfish. Boiled for 2 hours and left in dechlorinated water overnight. The next day I attached anubias plant to the log and put it to the tank. It sunk immediately and doesn't make any noticeable color. My fish seem to like it.
