It's a good design with a roll-up door rather than others that just move a plate up and down. The controller is decent, and the solar panel can be mounted on the ground or up with the provided mounts. Because of the opening of our chicken shed, I mounted it backward to some of the pictures, not sure if that will reduce its life.

We ordered item and did not install until beyond the ability to return date, would have returned. Door does not operate as described and is quite small. Will need to order a different door (one that works) and tear out this one. Should have known, you get what you pay for.

The setup isn’t too difficult and seems safe for the chickens. Makes it better for them at night by preventing predators from coming into the co-op entrance. An amazing invention and a good investment in chicken protection. If there is enough sun it will power up well and hold the charge a long while. Has an easy to read LCD display. Tough aluminum and can hold up to weather. The sensors work great. Easy to engage the timer. I’ve had no trouble with reliability etc so far.

Update: they have contacted me and have been very helpful. We are still working on a resolution. I would buy from them again.1. it requires rechargeable batteries (no included)2. no remote3. door doesn't open and or closes completely.4. You must activate settings to manually open and close. You can't just hit open or close.5. I was expecting more from a 100+ dollar door.This is going right back for a full refund.

This is a really nice quality solar door for a chicken coop. I like the roll up mechanism and it was pretty simple to install this bad boy. I really appreciate not having this on a timer so I can let the chickens out with the sun and I don't have to be awake for it! I like that the solar panel has a bit of flexibility with where you put it so you can get the necessary sun exposure. More of an advanced DIY installation but still really simple.

Saw the warning reviews about controller failure, but took a shot because it was on sale. The door itself seems to work well enough - but the control box is cheaply constructed, the solar panel I got does not efficiently recharge the quality AA rechargeable batteries I installed, and the unit eats up the batteries even though I have barely operated the door. The door closed twice on its own with batteries that died - had to recharge just to get door back open because manufacturer stupidly does not include easy access manual operation of the roller door in case of controller failure. I have had to remove the control box and solar panel and have to just leave the door open until I have another option. If the manufacturer upgraded the controller the combination with the roller door mechanism would be solid. As it is in 2023, I do NOT recommend buying.

The media could not be loaded. I love all the options and features like the timer and solar panel. I’m not using the solar panel or the timers right now so I love that there’s also the option for batteries and to open and close it manually at your convenience. Hopefully someday I’ll have a run attached to the coop and will use the timer then

I've been using the Automatic Chicken Coop Door for a while now, and while it gets the job done, I can't help but notice a somewhat cheap feel to it.On the positive side, the automatic functionality works as intended. It reliably opens and closes the coop door at the set times, providing convenience and security for my chickens. The setup was relatively straightforward, and the included instructions were helpful.However, the construction and materials used leave a bit to be desired. The overall build feels flimsier than I had expected, and the plastic components seem susceptible to wear over time. This raises concerns about the product's long-term durability.While the price is reasonable, I can't shake the feeling that a bit more investment in sturdier materials could have made a significant difference in the product's overall quality

After our first glitch, the company went out of their way to reach out to us and offer a free replacement with no need for a return of original items. (When dismantling 1st door we came across an unusual flaw that would be highly unlikely to be repeated in other doors, we have full confidence that our new door will stand the test of time 👌🏻)Sooo impressed with company’s ethics and service support. The new door is in place and working perfectly. Meets all our needs & a gives us confidence that our chickens are safe in our country wooded setting with foxes, coyotes etc living all around us. Thank you Jackie for you kind and speedy support! 😁Not a product to rely on. Worked great for a month and a half, then the door quit working, 2 weeks after I was able to return it. I replaced the batteries with freshly recharged batteries and still nothing…I would not buy this product.

The media could not be loaded. I Bought this only a few months ago and now it won't cycle. Have had issue with it freezing up as well. Super disappointed paid good money cut a hole in our coop and now I am back to opening the man door to let birds out.The motor even with the door off will not make more then one full revolution like its jammed up. It's plus 4°C today so not frozen.

Update - the company contacted me and sent a new device. The new one seems to be working perfectly.The device can't keep the time right. Within half an hour of setting the time the clock will be 45 minutes behind.

Company is great to deal with. Had an issue with the first one and they were very responsive. The second one is working great !

Worked great for about one month. Then it just quit. I’ve tried charging it but nothing. Really disappointed.
