Great value when on sale
This is just a small addition you can add to any diorama you are making with the various Mario sets, but it's a good one. Decent playability, and the buildable figures are nicely done, kind of like a small brickheadz, and a nice change from just a standard minifig. Easy enough to build some night when you're just looking for something simple to do.

This is a fun addition to the Mario lego course. It even plays DK music. Easy to set up for a 10 year old. We had fun building it together.

Small set that feels much bigger
I'm always impressed with how LEGO can take any particular subject and make a building set out of it that's fun, interesting, and looks amazing. This is a small but excellent homage to one of the most memorable video games of the 1990s. Dixie Kong with a guitar? Check. Squawks with a microphone? Check. A guitar amp, bongos, and a string of lights? Triple check. Plus, there's a place for LEGO Mario (or Luigi or Peach) to join and jam out. It's only 174 pieces, but it honestly feels like more. I guess I better buy some more Kong sets so I have the rest of the gang!
