Makes it work pretty good and easily re-sharpen hooks by a couple of movements. Fine side is just perfect for small hooks for ultralight fishing!

These are a bit more pricey than some sharpeners but this a really nice product. It's small enough for flies but I also use it to sharpen my larger conventional fishing hooks. easy to use and it's small enough to not get in the way.

A hook file is hardly a glamorous tool to carry when fishing but failing to have one can eclipse your hopes and best efforts. The file arrived as promised and looks like it should work fine. If you are going to spend big bucks on a saltwater fishing trip or to go chase steelhead or something interesting in Alaska, this company will not leave you wondering why your fish is not where it should be — on the end of your line.

I should have bought this thing years ago. I made do with a cheap hook hone that was a pain to use, so I didn't use it often. This one hangs from my vest and every fly gets a touch up when it's tied on. Hooks are super-sharp in a couple strokes. If I miss a strike, it's definitely not because my hook wasn't sharp. I think you'll like it.

very handy and it works

I bought this thinking you'd get two files as the picture makes it seem. I only received the larger one. I guess I should've paid more attention. Nice hook sharpener though, does its job well!
