Beautiful, powerful
This is a wonderful album - as are all of DOD cds. Adrian Hates is a talent not comparable to anyone else really. Not everybody's cup of tea, this sort of music, but if it hits the spot with you, you'll probably be like me and get so caught up in it that you won't stop till you've got everything Adrian and DOD have done. This won't disappoint you. Songs like Immerdar (Forever) which is so affecting and poignant - and Undividable, which is extremely catchy and will embed itself in your head. This is my favourite song on the album - 3 versions of it too, (bonus tracks, extended version of the cd) - all great! It sounds like an anthem of solidarity from the title, but it's exactly the opposite, of course. The songs on this album may be among DOD's best, I think. Between tracks there are some moody instrumental sections with quite long spoken passages in German that are a bit lost on me, I'm afraid. This, of course, is a fault of mine for not knowing German, not of DOD for simply expressing themselves in their native language! The actual songs in German (several) are a different matter and come over beautifully, even if you don't know the language, as they do on all the other DOD albums. It's an amazingly beautiful and powerful album. Every song is a gem. My head is full now of Adrian singing "We're undividable",with an infectious backbeat, but so sadly.
