My dog has had a lot of trauma with her paw pads and because of her black nails I am uncomfortable trimming them. This has been a life saver! With a little getting used to, we now lightly file her nails every night and they stay at a good length! The other benefit is that her nails have a slightly rounded shape so no more stabie nails!

I was hoping to have an alternate way of shortening my dogs’ nails without a clipper. This works pretty well and I can easily maneuver it. Only issue is getting the angle right when trimming the inner “thumb” my pups have. One pup has all four inner nails so might need a clipper for those.

The design of this is a great idea but it is almost like the sandpaper area is too rough to file the dog nails. I cut some regular sandpaper and placed it over the existing one to make it work better. I have a large dog who hates having his nails clipped so the design is great. Just the sanding/file area not too great. It was a bit pricy but I will keep it since I managed to MacGyver it to work.

This file works for about 2 seconds. The texture of it changes quickly. Goes from course to very smooth in about 2 strokes.

My Yorkie hates getting her nails clipped. I was tired of being scratched to death and her squealing like the drama queen that she is. Thankfully, this has pretty much stopped the scratching, biting, and squealing. She still gets freaked out but she lets me file down her nails without too much of a fight. It takes quite a few swipes, so you need a lot more patience with a larger breed. Also, be careful of the skin in between nails. I didn’t realize it was rubbing that area so it was raw and bled. My other 5lb dog hates this and cries as soon as the sandpaper touches her nail so she prefers her nails clipped. Go figure.

My older dog gets anxiety every time I take her to get her nails clipped. I tried everything to do them myself, battery operated gadgets, manual clippers, a dremel. Nothing worked…. this little tool is simple and simply works. My dog lets me sand her nails down a little at a time. When she has had enough I stop and start again hours later. No anxiety and nails get shorter

Well made, but it takes a while to file my dogs nails. You really have to apply some pressure to see a difference.
