I wasn't sure if this Lego set would be too big for my three year old grandson (four in February). He is a car and truck lover and just started showing interest in doing puzzles. As soon as he opened it, (his first Lego set), he was enthralled and insisted on opening the box. He and his dad sat down and within a few minutes my grandson had put together the wrecking ball crane and was so proud of himself. There are 235 pieces in this set which is too many for a four year old to do on his own but with help with a parent, it was absolutely doable. He is loving this. I bought a small set of rocks and gemstones that he could use to put in the dump truck and wheelbarrow and he's been having a great time with this Lego set. My son, who played with Lego from about the age of six through to his teens asked if we still had any of his sets at home as he is enjoying doing Lego again with his own son. It's nice to see kids playing with toys that use their imagination and creativity and I'm glad that Lego is still around!
