I could sit here and rave about Speedball Linocut Carve. I’ve been using for them years and I have never had an issue. Great for beginners and easy to cut! I carve stamps of people’s animals out of them and I have been praised for the quality. Easy to clean and easy to use!

This is my absolute favorite thing to make stamps out of, as a self-taught hobbyist! So easy to carve. No fuss. I only have one of those cheap Speedball carving tools with the five interchangeable tips, and I haven't even needed to worry much about sharpening. The rubber is so easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to get into fun stamp making.

I use these Speedball Speedy-Carve blocks for laser engraving custom stamps, and they've worked beautifully. The material is soft but durable, making it extremely easy to carve with the right tools, and it holds intricate details very well without crumbling or tearing. The size is convenient for smaller designs, and the consistency across the pack has been excellent. I’ve had no issues at all — they do exactly what they’re supposed to. Highly recommended for anyone doing stamp carving, whether by hand or with a laser.

First of all Speedy-Carve is the stamp carving materials that the experts recommend. Second it’s soft for carving but hard enough to stand up for a lot of stamping pressure. Plus, it comes at a decent price which is important considering how much rubber stamp carvers go through.

I’ve used the Speedball Speedy-Carve Block Printing material for several printmaking projects, and overall, it’s an excellent product. It’s especially great if you’re just starting out or prefer a softer surface than traditional linoleum. Pros: • Easy to Carve: The material is soft and cuts like butter, which makes it perfect for beginners or anyone with hand strain concerns. • Holds Detail Well: Despite the softness, it holds fine details surprisingly well without crumbling or flaking. • Good for Stamps and Prints: Works well for everything from simple stamps to full-page block prints. • Reversible Surface: Both sides of the block are usable, which adds some value. Cons: • Pricey Compared to Alternatives: It’s a bit expensive, especially if you’re going through a lot of blocks quickly. • Can Nick Easily: Because it’s so soft, it can get accidentally marked or dented more easily than harder surfaces. • Not Ideal for Super-Fine or Repetitive Prints: For very detailed or repeated printing, it may break down faster than harder blocks. Final Verdict: If you’re looking for an easy-to-use carving surface that won’t frustrate you with resistance or crumbling, Speedy-Carve is fantastic. Just be mindful of the price and softness when planning your project. Great for art students, stamp makers, and hobbyists.
